Amanda's POV

I'm unable to get past the boundaries of town. My health is unwell. Find the answer and save the trees. ~Angelina

The message is not at all obvious.
No one knows what it means, no matter how many times we repeat it to everyone. Grace, especially is confused.

"Well I suppose we know that she wants us to save the trees but that's what we all want." Leo states.

"What answer, though?" Grace ponders.

"And what does she mean by stuck on the borders of town?" I question.

"Is it a metaphorical phrase?" David offers.

"No, I think it's quite literal or else she'd try to help us directly. Angelina is confusing but if it came to the safety of the apple trees, she'd let us know. Plus, it explains her absence." Leo answers.

"I hope she's not horribly sick." I think about the possibility of Angelina struggling to do something. Unlikely.

"She's the townsperson who makes sure no one gets sick, right?" Connor mentions.

"Yes. Angelina is pretty old, though. Everyone's life ends somehow." Leo points out.

"Wait! I think I'm connecting something here. Connor, what did you say at the Apple Grove about all living things?" I'm on a roll and I have to keep going.

There's something close to clicking in my brain. Leo's looking at me and for once not knowing what's going through my thoughts.

"Um, all living things are supposed to die sometime." Connor says.

"That's it!" I snap my fingers.

I have a lead and possibly an answer.

A/N: Updating as much as possible. Just trying create good chapters though instead of a bunch of quick, rushed ones. Wendy Mass' characters. ~M
