Ok ok ok, this story starts out almost painfully slow. Just bare with it. After the first few chapters of slowly begining the story it gets better. I promise. Just bare with me ok? And please know i SUCK at grammar. So, when you se basically terrible mistakes, laugh if you want but don't judge me for it.
Happy Reading <3

Prologue
~ The Beginning ~
My name is Annamaria, and almost no one knows my secret. My secret is something no one can ever know. And yet, a boy named Kevin figured it out when I was 14 years old. I don't know how he was able to figure it out, but he did. Now I can't do anything about it. He used to be my friend. Then something I don't remember happened, and I guess we just stopped hanging out. Then my vampire powers came in. Well, not exactly. No, I am not a vampire- although the rest of my family is. I am an unvampire. Whenever I get close to someone with my blood's infinity, my blood level rises, and then if I don't inject my blood into someone soon, it will explode out of my nose. Which I am glad to say, doesn't happen very often. When I was younger I just held it in, but now if I try to do so, it just explodes right on out. So using my powers to make it seem like it never happened is very important.
My vampire powers, just like every other unvampire before me, are different and quite fun to use. They are a lot of responsibility though. I mean, the power to silently command any nonliving object I please, if used incorrectly, could end up exposing not just me, but all vampires, not to mention unvampires. Vampires and unvampires don't want to be exposed. If we were, we would be used like lab rats. Needles and whatever else scientists and doctors could think of to do to us, well, we don't want that to happen, so all vampires and unvampires just stay hidden, concealing our powers for the better. My family's powers are completely different from mine. Not only can I command nonliving objects, but whoever I bite turns immortal. And by "turns immortal", I mean becomes a vampire. My family, on the other hand, can't do that. No one else of the vampire species can, except me and the other unvampires.
I have two brothers, two sisters, and of course, two parents. My brothers' names are Emmit and Jason. Emmit is the eldest. He is 15, just one year older than me, making me the second oldest. I spend more time with Emmit than I spend with any other family member. He was my brother, but he was also the one who understood me the most. He was kinda like my best friend, because I didn't have any. He could shape shift, which I think is pretty amazing. He can become whoever or whatever he pleases. Jason is the youngest of the family, being only 10. Jason can control the shadows. He can wrap them around himself like a jacket, and become practically invisible, unless you were looking for him. Even then sometimes you can't find him. My sisters, Poppy and Chastity, are twins. They spend a lot of time together, and are almost never apart. They are 12 years old and are very curious. Poppy and Chastity have different powers from everyone else, but they don't choose when to use them, much less let you know who has which power. One can see the future, and the other can read the prophecy. Those are pretty much the same power, however, which is what makes it so difficult to tell.
My mom and dad were a different story. They never use their powers. Emmit and I don't think they have any, but all of us are too scared to ask. My mother, Tabitha, is caring but also very demanding. She often tells us to do very important things, without telling us the reason. She has a reason, a very good reason, for the most part. So we all just listen and do as she says, knowing that it is usually best, but she also goes overboard sometimes. Most of the time it's with me, so I ignore her sometimes, and do what I think is right. My dad on the other hand, cares a little too much. He worries about everything. Me being the unvampire of my generation doesn't help at all. His eyes glow red when he is mad, and to tell you the truth, it is seriously frightening. He is level-headed, but he thinks too much about what could happen, rather than what is happening.
So, the prophecy. It is basically something that tells the family of the unvampire how the unvampire's life will go. It makes things smoother, and the family has less to worry about. Some vampires, like Poppy and Chastity, have the power to read it. I think of it as something that tells me exactly how to live my life, and I absolutely hate it. It says I am going to marry a vampire prince and choose a Living One that shall forever be mortal even if I bite him. I find this to be completely mental. I don't want to marry a vampire prince. If anything, I want to live my own life, and be my own person; but things just aren't going to change no matter what I do. I am going to continue living on, with Kevin being the only one at school that ever talks to me, my brother as my only friend, and with a family of vampires trying to protect me. Nothing will ever change, and I will be stuck like this forever.
One thing that seriously bothers me is how Kevin was able to figure it out. We haven't talked in about a year, and one day he runs up to me, says "I know you’re a vampire," and runs away. It might have been a cruel joke when he told me, but my reaction to him made it plainly obvious that it was true. After that, he has asked me every question known to man about my life and all those superstitions about vampires and whatnot. Maybe what I needed to start figuring out, was how he figured it out. I thought about this as I hurried to school. I could always ask him, but right then I was going to be late for class.
As I ran in the door, the bell rang. Everyone looked at me, because I was late. Again. No matter how hard I try, it seems I am always late. It was not always this way, but now every morning Kevin gets in my way. What is wrong with that boy? I have no idea, but he makes me so mad! He doesn't need to pester me every morning about what I am, and ask me countless questions about it. And what makes it worse, is that every day he is later than I am, yet, no one ever cares! It is like he never does anything wrong, and everything I do is wrong, just because I dress in all black everyday.
During homeroom, I thought about being the unvampire. There are only three main differences between unvampires like me, and normal vampires. First of all, I can walk around in sunlight and not burn to a crisp. Also, my powers are extremely different and more powerful. Lastly, I have a rising blood level instead of a lowering blood level. I still have to stay away from stuff like garlic and crosses, which can be hard at times, but I manage. Kevin however, uses that fact like a joke, and puts garlic in my backpack or whatever else he can think of to mess up my life for a while. It always works, but he thinks I am just lying. I'm not, though. It is my life, and I can't change that! I think that is the one thing Kevin doesn't understand. He doesn't understand that all those things really do bother me. He thinks I just freak out around them, but no. If I am touched by garlic, I will fall to the ground and be unable to breath, and if I am given a cross, I will go mad and bite everyone around me until someone takes it away from me. So yes, I really do have to be careful, but no one understands that.
