Chapter 10

~ Bloody Mayhem ~

When I finally did wake, there were only two periods of the day left. I pushed the lid of my coffin open and sat up. I grabbed my lighter out of my pocket and lit the candle closest to my coffin. The dim glow was perfect for just waking up. I got out of my coffin and picked up the candle. I walked over to the secret door. "Fly my candle," I whispered. Thankfully I had gotten enough sleep to use my vampire power, I could tell nonliving objects what to do, again. My lit candle flew back to its' spot directly next to my coffin, and blew out. I hit the secret door twice, the stairs fell as usual and I walked up into my locker. I pulled up the stairs and the secret door closed. I stopped before I opened my locker door. There was a note taped to the inside of my locker door. I pulled it off having the tape almost rip the paper. It was the sudden banging on my locker that scared me more than the screaming that accompanied it right outside my locker door.

"FAITH NO!" a voice screamed.

"WHERE IS SHE?" another voice boomed.

"WE DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!" about three girl voices screamed.

"ANNAMAIRNA MARIONETTE SOPHIA MORETTI!" the louder voice boomed.

I couldn't believe it, whoever it was, was looking for me and knew my entire name! Even the name given to me by a nurse when I was born. She had called me Marionette because I acted like a puppet on strings. I did exactly what anyone told me to do. The nurse was so surprised she wanted my mother to name me with a name that some how reflected that.

"WE DON'T KNOW WHERE SHE IS!" the girls’ voices screamed.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE SHE IS?" the voice boomed.

"She disappears for a while, I have not seen her all day." one of the girls practically whispered.

"THEN YOU PEOPLE ARE OF NO HELP TO ME!" the voice boomed.

The man was obviously gone when the girls started whispering to themselves.

"Man, where is Anna when you need her?" one of the girls said.

"No idea, and where do you suppose she goes all day?" another one said.

"Probably goes and cries to Kevin about how dull and boring her life is!" yet another girl said.

"You have got to be kidding, she could never get Kevin, she is not near cool enough," the first girl said almost laughing.

"Hey, isn't that her locker over there?" the second girl asked.

"I think it is, want to peek inside, see what she hides all the time?" the third girl said.

"I bet there are bats in there!" the first one said, "I bet if you open that door bats will fly out!"

"Oh, then you open it," the second one said.

"Yeah! Good idea Alyssa!" the third one said.

"Fine, I guess I will," the first one said, "but Faith, if bats do fly out I am going to like murder you!"

"I would like you see you try, Destiny!" Faith responded.

"Figure of speech, gosh!" Destiny said obviously freaked out.

This is when it hit me that they were going to open my locker. "Lock, don't open for them," I whispered. The lock obeyed me and shut tighter making it so no matter what; no one would be able to get inside my locker.

"I can't open it!" Destiny said obviously trying hard to open my lock.

"You must be joking, all of these locks open the same way! You just twist it around, hit the back, and pull!" Faith said probably coming to help her.

"Yeah! You're probably just scared!" Alyssa said, also coming to help her.

"Lock, hold strong," I whispered making my lock become even tighter.

"Gosh, this thing is stuck!" Faith said, almost out of breath.

"You're right it is!" Alyssa said almost out of breath as well.

"Told you!" Destiny said pulling hard with the others.

I was looking for other ways to get out, without making enough noise for the three girls to think there was something alive in my locker, when I felt a familiar feeling. The feeling I knew all too well, the feeling of my blood, as a hot red ocean, rising to its' peak. It was coming, and I had no time. It came exploding out, I couldn't stop it! My entire locker was filled with blood, and blood was streaming out of the side of my locker. "Release, lock, let me out." I whispered. The three girls, who were already shocked by the blood, fell back as the lock released. I flung my locker door open and ran, ran straight to the other side of the hallway. My nose had stopped bleeding, and none of the three girls had seen me escape my locker. I looked down at my clothing; there was blood all over them. "Blood return to my locker like a bloody snake," I whispered. All the blood on my clothing then transformed into a snake around my shoes, and slithered over to the puddle of blood, right outside my locker, when it got with the rest of the blood it transformed back into blood and made it seem as if I had never had blood on my clothes. I walked around the corner, to look at the three girls who were still lying in the puddle of my blood outside my locker. I knew it, I had just been found out, and this time, it wasn't someone who would keep the secret.

"What are you doing?" I said, even though I knew exactly what happened.

"WHERE DID ALL THIS BLOOD COME FROM?" Faith screamed. I had recognized the voice of the girl instantly.

"Are you alright Faith?" I asked, "You seem to be bothered by something."

"YEAH! ALL THIS BLOOD!" Destiny screamed, again I knew her voice.

"I asked Faith, but I don't see any blood here, Destiny, do you?" I asked

"YES WE ALL DO!" the final girl said, which means she must have been Alyssa.

"Blood, become an illusion," I whispered under my breath.

"What did you say?" Alyssa asked, obviously knowing that I said something about the blood, "You do see it don't you!"

"No, I said the blood must be an illusion," I replied as the blood began to vanish, "I should probably get you all to the nurse."

"No, it is not an illusion!" Alyssa said standing up and pointing to my locker, "and it all came from YOUR LOCKER!" As she stood the blood disappeared completely.

"Really? My locker looks empty to me!" I said, "Besides, I don't remember giving you permission to open my locker!"

"What?" Alyssa said as the two other girls on the ground noticed that the blood was all gone, like it was never there.

"Alyssa, look down, the blood is gone." Faith said

"It really is!" Destiny said in agreement with Faith.

Alyssa looked down as what used to be the puddle of my blood. "It IS gone," she said.

I walked over to my locker, and slammed the door shut. "Now, how about getting you girls to the nurse," I said as they all looked up at me as if they knew I did something.
