Chapter 2
~Intruder Alert~
It was not the bell that woke me up… it was the shutting of a locker very close to my location, was it my locker? Maybe someone beside me? It was the middle of 3rd period, who would be at their locker? Then I heard 2 hits, they were really silent, I could barely hear them. Then, I saw a small dim light coming from the edge of my coffin door. Someone was in here. Who the crap was it? I heard a soft familiar voice say "WOAH" in a slightly breathless manner. I knew this back room had 3 other lockers who could gain access but I didn't think anyone would know how, considering my locker is the only locker which had steps into it and I locked the back of all the other lockers. How could anyone else get in here? Another candle lit, and another and another. I could see the dim light at the crack of my coffin getting slightly brighter and larger. Whoever it was is lighting more and more candles.
I didn’t know quite what to do, if it was a normal student they would freak if they saw me rise out of a coffin, but if it was Kevin he would just look at me like I was insane. I didn't have much time for debate because whoever it was, was at the edge of the coffin, their shadow covering the light that would have normally shown through. I took a hold on the handle on the inside ready to pull and hold the door shut, but when they opened the door. They opened it so quickly I didn't have time to react and my hand slid from the handle. I shut my eyes to act like I was a sleep.
"OH MY GOD SHE REALLY IS A MONSTER!" the voice screamed
I opened my eyes quickly, and sat up before I could think it through. I looked around, everything was a blur for a second, first I saw short blonde hair, then, I saw deep blue eyes, and an old Beetles shirt, blue jeans, and…
"OH MY GODDESS!" I screamed right back jumping strait out of my coffin.
It was my little brother.
"Jason, what the heck are you doing here, and how did you learn how to get in here?"
"Mommy told me, she also said that you need to get home fast, sister’s window was open and she got burned badly. Her clone didn't get burned but Poppy was completely red when I left."
"Oh my gosh!" I looked around, "Well let me go give this note to my teacher, then I can grab my stuff, and get my cape for you to wear, and we can leave, until then stay in here."
"Mom said to be in a hurry."
"Well to be able to leave school I have to tell people where I'm going, one of the stupid parts about being a freshman."
"Then can I sleep in your coffin until you get back?"
"Sure, why not, just don't mess it up." I said banging on the back of the secret door twice, and having the stairs fall on the inside.
Jason climbed into my coffin and then slowly shut the lid. He had to be insanely tired, he had to use the power of shadow all the way here, because he didn't have his cape. The must mean Poppy was in more danger than I thought. I didn't quite know what I was going to do. I mean yes, I am the vampire healer but if I got there and my sister was already dead, I might die because I wasn't able to save her. No matter what, I had to hurry, I climbed up the stairs and shut the secret door behind me.
