You were sitting in your backyard on the swing when you heard a car pull up. You figured it was probably your neighbor so you just sat there. You had been having a bad day after you had been rejected from yet another job and weren't really in the mood to talk to anyone. The guys kept calling but you didn't want to answer, you must have had at least four missed calls and eight texts. To be fair, you had only told Michael what happened and didn't tell the other guys.
While you were outside you heard your mom open and close the front door, you thought it was probably just someone trying to sell you solar panels again. But then you heard someone come outside, "mom? dad?" No answer, you could hear their footsteps though, they were going to turn the corner towards you any second. "Hello?" They stopped, and you heard a faint strumming. "Michael, I know it's you and I'm really not in the mood." But then the strumming stopped, normally he was more persistent with these things. "What was I thinking? Everyone sees it." That's not Michael's singing. You were about to get up when Luke turned the corner and you heard strumming, "it's not a secret that I'm just a reject." Then Ashton turned the corner and started drumming against the wall, and Calum started joining Luke with harmonies. "Sick of the system, don't wanna hear it." Michael turned the corner and kept strumming, "it's not a secret that I'm just a reject."
You walked up and hugged them all, "thanks guys, but that doesn't really make me feel better."
Luke pouted and looked at you, "y/n, did you even want that job?"
You looked down at the ground, "honestly, no, I probably wouldn't have taken it, but I want to know I'd at least be able to get a job at some point, I mean I have no clue what I'm doing with my life yet."
Ashton pulled you into a hug, "I remember when I worked at KFC-"
Michael groaned, "Ashton, we love you, but I think we all know the KFC story."
The rest of the boys gave you a group hug and Michael said, "you don't have to know what you're doing with your life right this minute."
Calum piped up, "I feel like I haven't spoken enough so I'm just going to say, everything they said times two."
You flicked Calum's forehead and went back inside with them all. You spent the rest of the day watching Superhero movies in a fort that you built.
Not everyone gets a knight in shining armor, lucky for me, I got four.
