Momo just chuckled and ran after me. I stopped as soon as I got to the courts and sat down on the ground…and by sat I mean fall over on my back panting for air. I opened my eyes when a shadow seemed to be looming over me and blocking the sun. “Nice of you to join us.” Inui said.
I would have had a sarcastic reply, but I was having a hard time breathing at that moment. He held a hand out, which I graciously accepted, and pulled me up. “There was a 89% chance that you would have had a sarcastic reply to that.” He said scientifically.
I could only stare before patting a hand on his back. “You know Inui, there’s definitely no one else like you in the world is there?” I replied.
He pushed his glasses further up the bridge of his nose. “Actually there’s a 27.54% chance that-“ I cut him off.
“You know what? Let’s just say that you’re special alright?” I compromised quickly before walking away to the courts and left him with himself and his stalker book.
I stalked off towards the outer courts where the rest of the regulars stood. Tezuka did say something about a new training schedule they would be – I mean we would be getting. I sighed to myself. It might take a while to get used to this whole team stuff.
“Listen up regulars!” coach Ryuzaki called. "From now on we’ll be starting a new training schedule made by Inui.” She introduced him as he slowly walked onto the court.
“We will be doing one-one matches. Since we have an extra member.-“ he said referring to me. “Someone will have to go twice.” He said sharing his calculations with the rest of the group.
“What’s with that? I thought the new training was going to be tough?” Momo said relieved.
I agreed with him. I looked over to Inui. “What? No torture from training Inui? I’m disappointed.” I said with a fake pout.
As soon as I said this I wished I could’ve taken it back. Inui suddenly was wearing a smile that would make babies cry. “Clair, you are absolutely right.” He said eerily.
I looked up surprised. “I-I am?” I said stunned.
Inui nodded his head. “Yes you are, and that’s why-“ he soon brought a glass of something out from behind his back. “Whoever loses each game will drink my new creation. I call it penal-tea II.” He said proudly.
I could’ve fainted on the spot along with everyone else. It looked absolutely disgusting. I turned to find most of the team glaring at me. I laughed sheepishly. “Haha! S-sorry?” I said shyly.
I returned my gaze to the concoction in Inui’s care. “Ummm, question?” I said raising my hand in the air.
“Yes, Clair?” Coach Ryuzaki called.
I pointed at the drink. “Is that thing legal?” I asked.
I could hear Kikumaru mumble from behind me. “It shouldn’t be.” Which made me snicker.
Coach Ryuzaki gave us both a knowing look. “Yes, it is Clair. As a matter of fact…” She said trailing off.
She took the glass from Inui’s hand and handed it to me. “Why don’t you try some, since you’ve never had any before.” She said with an evil smile.
I took two steps back nervously and tried to change the conversation. “S-s-so who’s g-g-going f-first?” I said looking at Inui.
He smirked before calling the first match. “Kaidoh vs. Taka.” He announced.
They both took a step out on the court. I gave Kaidoh a pat on the back before he continued. “Good luck Kai!” I said encouragingly.
He blushed head-to-toe and Momo laughed out loud at this. “Oy! What are you laughing at stupid!” Kaidoh shouted at Momo.
