If there was
one thing
Emily didn't
expect to have
even once in her life,
it was the applause of
an entire crowd.
Just as Emily added the
light glimmer to the
ethereal eye,
the crowd had lost their
control.
The haunting eye
opened out into
the endless twist of
glittering stars and cosmos,
it felt like they had
jetted straight out to
the stars themselves,
even though their
feet were firmly
planted onto the earth's ground.
The cheer stalked
through Emily's ear
with a wild crashing of
her heart inside.
She turned around,
the most genuine smile
she'd ever been able to
manage for such a long time.
Emily couldn't breathe.
And her insides rung with
the voices of people
she didn't know her entire life.
They had no reason to
support her.
Emily was no one to them.
But her art.
Her work.
Her sincerity.
And her talent.
It was all enough
to waltz her out of
the nobody she used to be.
This girl was capable of
more than she ever gave
herself credit for.
