Cisco and Parker retreated from the scene together. She continuously looked behind, hoping to see the red streak fly by.
"He'll be fine," Cisco said, nudging her shoulder. "You've kept him alive without us. One difficult meta won't hurt him."
"Not so sure about that," Parker mumbled, her nerves getting the best of her.
Cisco took a deep breath. She always assumed right then he was going to say his apologies to her. She never got to find out, thanks to Barry stealing her from Cisco. He ran her to the Lab at the CCPD.
Thrown back into normal time upon arrival, Parker fell to her bottom, hacking loudly.
Barry swore quietly, disappointed in himself for neglecting to remember her breathing troubles after running with him.
"Park, I forgot--"
"Mr. Allen?" An unfamiliar voice called.
Parker's head snapped to the door, then Barry. Removing a hand from her chest, she waved it wildly, motioning for him to change.
Sending loose papers flying around the room, Barry changed from his suit and into his normal attire.
In the short amount of time it took, a man appeared at the doorway. "Barry Allen?"
"Yeah," said Barry, exiting from behind the cabinet. He shook the man's hand.
"I'm Greg Turk. I'm an attorney at Weathersby and Stone."
"Uh, oh," Parker said, her voice raspy from the coughing. "What did he do now?"
Turning, Barry met her eye, sending her a look that begged her to behave. "This is my girlfriend, Mr. Turk."
"Parker Sylas," she introduced. He bent down to shake her hand.
"I don't usually make house calls, but I've been trying to get in touch with you for months," Mr. Turk said.
Struggling to avoid using his speed to organize the papers, Barry said, "Yes, I'm sorry about that, I've just.. Um.. I've been busy with police work."
"We need to talk about S.T.A.R. Labs," Mr. Turk said.
Both Barry and Parker watched the attorney, far more interested than previously. "As you know, Harrison Wells left the property to you as part of his living trust."
"What?" Parker gasped.
"Which I did not ask him to do," Barry said to Parker. "But we've been keeping the place up."
"Some of us more than others," Parker corrected again.
Mr. Turk gave a polite smile. "I'm afraid it's going to take more than cleaning the floors to retain it. The facility and the real estate are scheduled to go into receivership at the end of this week."
Parker's jaw clenched when she saw Barry's face. By his avoidance of her eye, clearly, he had known something about it. "Barry--"
"I only knew it was supposed to happen, I didn't know when," Barry tried to say.
"Because that's supposed to make it better," Parker snapped. "How could you not tell me? I've been working for months to get the place under one of our names!"
"I thought your name seemed familiar," Mr. Turk interrupted. "Parker Sylas: the girl who relentlessly called the real estate office."
"What?" Barry asked.
Parker glared at Mr. Turk. "I left a few furious voicemails at the real estate place for S.T.A.R. Labs. They wouldn't return my calls."
"And those calls were transferred to me, however, I tend to avoid angry people," Mr. Turk said.
Parker sucked in a deep breath. Knowing her next words weren't going to be nice, Barry quickly asked,
"How can we keep the place?"
Mr. Turk popped his briefcase open. He dug his hand in it, pulled out a USB drive, then dropped it into Barry's palm. "Watch this."
"What is it?" Parker asked.
"A video message drafted by Dr. Wells."
"What's on it? Have you seen it?" Barry asked.
"No. He was very specific. It was only to be watched by you," Mr. Turk said. Suspiciously, he glanced at Parker.
"Relax, bucko, I won't peak," she insisted.
"You totally will," Barry said.
"The device will send me a notification once you view it. And at that point, I'll have everything ready to execute," Mr. Turk promised.
"I'm not going to watch that."
"Well, that's up to you, Mr.Allen. I'm only here to represent Harrison Wells' final request."
"Hell, give it to me, so I can get this building back," Parker said.
"That is to be seen by Barry's eyes only," Mr. Turk said.
Parker mockingly glanced around the Lab. "Does it look like Wells is here to ensure only he sees it?"
"No, but I am," Mr. Turk said. "I cannot give you the paperwork to transfer the building, Ms. Sylas. It's to be given to Barry Allen."
"How will you know it's not Barry watching it?"
"I'm sure I'll be aware," Mr. Turk said. He checked his watch, then nodded at the two. "Good day."
Still glaring at the doorway after he was long gone, Parker muttered, "God damn attorneys. After we get the building, I don't ever want to see him again."
"I'm not watching the video," Barry insisted, guessing that would be her next request.
Parker let out an angry puff of air. "Yeah, you're not doing a lot of things, Barry."
