Flustered, panicked, distraught-- all words described our speedster accurately at the point in time. Having watched Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall slaughtered by the hand of Vandal Savage, then proceeding to see Oliver Queen die before his eyes, Barry ran, simply because he knew nothing else to do.
Running faster than the rapidly approaching wave of disintegrating blue kept his legs pumping faster than usual. In the midst of running to save Parker and running faster than the wave, the speed force threw him out of the situation.
He skidded to a stop outside of a warehouse. Cautiously, Barry entered. An alive Oliver Queen and an impatient Malcolm Merlyn waited. A heavy sigh exited Barry's lips; traveling back in time would surely earn a hit from Parker.
Barry followed every previous step he took. He brought Parker to the farm house and joined her on a horseback ride. In the barn, Oliver approached the trio, asking if he could borrow Barry. Accidentally, Barry winced.
"Barry?" asked Parker.
"What's wrong?" continued Cisco.
Barry asked for a private moment with Oliver. He proceeded to tell Oliver of the change in the timeline, in hopes that putting their heads together would increase the likelihood of finding a way to fix what they wronged.
On the porch of the farmhouse laid Parker, peering into the distance at the two men. The attempt to read their lips was interrupted by her cell phone ringing. "Hi, little brother."
"You hit me."
"Arm spasm."
"Parker, you don't just hit someone!"
Parker inhaled deeply. "I'm sorry for it, Dyl."
"Why did you hit me?"
"Can't tell you that."
"I'm your brother."
"And I have a secret to protect," she said honestly. "I will go to very far lengths to do so."
"What's secret is so big that you can't tell me? I'm your family."
"Maybe one day you'll find out, but I guarantee it won't be from me."
"Fine. I see how it is."
"Don't tell me you're mad now," grumbled Parker.
"My sister is supposed to trust me."
"This secret isn't mine to tell," she said.
"I'll find out what it is sooner or later."
"Take a chill pill, kid."
"You hit me-- no, knocked me out -- to protect somebody's stupid secret?" asked Dylan. "You know, I thought you were a better sister than that."
"You're breaking my heart, kid, really," said Parker flatly. "Come on, Dyl, our sibling bond is strong enough to work through this."
"You're not my sister."
Parker shook her head. "You know playing the adoption card on me doesn't work anymore."
"If you loved me, if you trusted me, you would have told me instead of knocking me out."
"What you don't understand is that I can't take that chance," explained Parker. "My work is more important than your anger against me."
"How could you say that?"
"Because my work helps me saves lives. That's why," she snapped. Due to a knock on the window from Barry, Parker sighed. "I have to go."
Dylan huffed. "Don't be surprised if you get uninvited from our Christmas party."
