Vic's POV

"God fucking dammit!" I yelled as my car made weird rumbling noises.

I am two minutes away from the hospital and my car broke down. Two minutes! My car couldn't have held its shit together for two minutes?

I managed to get it on to the side of the road before getting out. My wife is in the hospital and I'm stuck here. I wouldn't be stuck unless I.... Ran.

The thought skimming my mind was enough to make me do it. I started running as fast as I could to the hospital. I had to dodge many cars and I almost got hit a couple times but it's all worth it.

I never realized how much running hurts until now. My lungs are in agony and my legs feel like they are about to fall off.

I stopped running when I got in the hospital doors. I caught my breath before going up to the lady at the front desk.

"Please. I need to see Blade Fuentes." I said with a bit of a panicky voice.

She nodded her head and tapped on the keys of her computer.

"I'm sorry sir but it looks like Blade is in surgery right now. You can visit her as soon as she's done though." The woman said.

Surgery? Why the hell would she need surgery? Blade is probably the healthiest woman I know!

"Can you at least tell me what's wrong with her?" I asked.

"Unfortunately I can't until she's out of surgery. What are you? Her boyfriend?" She asked.

"Husband." I corrected.

"Well since you are immediate family you can sign this paper here so you can get in as soon as she wakes up." She handed me a paper that I quickly scribbled my name on before handing it back to her. "Alright, well you can sit right over there." She pointed in the waiting room where I saw Bethany and Shiloh.

"Thanks." I said before walking over to them.

When Bethany noticed me she stood up and wrapped her arms around me.

"I don't know what's wrong with her." She sniffled as I rubbed her back.

"I know Bethany I know. I don't know what's wrong either and I'm really confused. We'll just see what's wrong with her then we'll just get her out of here, okay?" I said, trying to keep her calm.

"A-alright." She stuttered.

We let go of each other and I saw Shiloh sitting on the floor. She didn't look like she was crying but I could tell she was. Shiloh always tries to toughen up because she doesn't like to cry in public or anywhere really.

"Hey Shiloh." I said to her as I sat on the floor next to her.

"Hi daddy." She said without looking at me.

I picked her up and sat down in a chair with her. She looked towards the wall and sighed. I knew why she was looking towards the wall but I wasn't going to say anything because she doesn't like it when people know that she's crying.

"Excuse me sir?" A woman wearing scrubs piped up.

"Uh... Yes?" I responded as I slowly ran my fingers up and down Shiloh's back.

"We just thought we'd let you know that your wife just got out of surgery." She said.

"Really? Oh thank god. Can I see her?" I didn't want to ask but I knew I'd never see her if I just ran in there.

"She isn't awake yet. When she is we'll come get you," she answered.

"Okay. Thank you." The woman nodded her head before exiting the room.
