Light the cat

Blade's POV one month later

Mia has been staying with us for over a month now. Both Vic and I feel more closer to her everyday. We tried our best to find someone that she was related to, to take her but we couldn't get in contact with her so Vic and myself have been having a blast caring for her.

"Mia! Breakfast is ready!" I yelled up the stairs.

Mia came running down with a huge smile on her face. She's been so happy and cheerful lately and I have no idea why.

She ran over to Vic who was sitting at the table. Vic pulled her into his lap and whispered to her and she whispered back.

"What are you guys whispering about?" I asked and put a bowl of cereal in front of Mia.

"Nothing." Vic said and pulled Mia's hair back as she ate.

"Well it's obviously something. What is it, Mia?" I asked thinking that I could get a response out of her.

"I can't say anything." she said and put another spoonful of cereal in her mouth.

"Well I will find out at some point and-" my sentence was cut off by hearing a little 'meow' in one of my moving boxes. Vic asked me if I wanted to live with him so I didn't have to pay for another shitty apartment.

"I think she heard it." I heard Mia whisper to Vic.

I ran over to the boxes full of my clothes and stuff and looked in them until I saw a box with a little black and white Persian cat. I lifted the little kitten up and looked at it's cute little bright green eyes.

"Why did I just find a cat?" I asked Vic as I smiled at the little cat.

"The neighbor's cat had kittens and they said we could have one so Mia and I picked one out for you." Vic explained.

"And why was it in a box?" I asked.

"We couldn't find a good place to hide it." Mia said and jumped out of Vic's lap to see the kitten.

"That's too sweet of you guys. You didn't have to do it for me." I said and let Mia hold the cat.

"You've been doing so much for us Blade. We had to." Vic said.

I set the cat down and we all played with it. I let Mia name it and she chose the name Light because she's a death note fan like me.

"I'm going to go see Bethany today." I said to Vic as I braided Mia's hair. "You guys are welcome to come with."

"I want to go!" Mia said excitedly.

"I'll go too." Vic said.

"I bet Bethany is going to love you guys." I said and put Mia's braided hair into a ponytail.

"My big sisters name was Bethany." Mia said and looked down at Light who was in her lap.

"You had a sister?" I asked.

"Yeah. She ran away though." Mia said and put Light down.

"Oh. That's too bad. Maybe you'll see her again someday." I said.

"Yeah." she said and looked up at me with her big blue eyes.

"Well we'd better get going now." I said and stood up.

We all got in the car to go meet up with Bethany and drop off her phone that she left at my house a while ago.

When we got to the small coffee place where we were meeting up a got out of the car and carried Mia on my hip and Vic followed behind me.
