Blade's POV
"She buckled up tight?" Vic asked as I strapped Shiloh in her car seat.
"Yep." I said as I hopped in back with her. "Let's go home. I'm missing that place."
"Alright. Home it is ladies." Vic said as he started the car.
I was only in the hospital with Shiloh for two days but I was already missing my warm bed and our unorganized bedroom. I was also really excited to get Shiloh home.
"Hey baby." I whispered as she opened her eyes. I put my finger out and she slowly reached up and grabbed it with her little hand. "The overload of cuteness going on back here is unbearable, Vic."
"Dang it. I'm missing the cuteness." Vic said as he kept his eyes on the road.
A few twists and turns later we were home. I quietly got out of the car and got a sleeping Shiloh out too.
Vic opened the door and held it open as we walked in.
I carried her upstairs and carefully put her in her crib. She stirred a little bit and opened her eyes before completely passing out again.
Vic and I just stood there and stared at her. It's hard to believe that she's here and that she's... Ours. I mean I know she's ours because she's definitely got a couple of our features but it's hard to believe that she's actually here. It's so hard to believe that that was the little baby that I carried around in my stomach for nine months.
"I can't believe she's actually here." Vic said breaking the silence.
"Yeah. She's perfect." I quietly said back to him as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
"She really is. She's gonna be the most gorgeous girl in the world when she gets older. I'm going to have to get all the boys to stop hitting on her when she's older. That's gonna be a challenge." Vic said and put his chin on my shoulder.
"Ah, so you're going to be a protective dad." I said with a smirk.
"With a daughter like that I sure am." He said with a serious look on his face.
"We should let her sleep for a little bit. She's probably gonna wake up for food in a while." I said and grabbed Vic's hand to drag him out of the nursery.
"Alright." He said. "Goodnight Shiloh. See you in a bit." He whispered before carefully shutting the nursery door.
"I should go make dinner." I said with a sigh. I'm honestly too tired to make dinner but I know Vic is probably starving and I am too.
"What was that sigh about?" He asked and ran his fingers though my hair.
"I'm just really tired. But I'll still make it I guess." I said and started making my way downstairs.
"Babe, if you're too tired I could make it." His sentence stopped me dead in my tracks.
"You? Making dinner? That sounds more like you making a house fire." I said with a chuckle. I always like to make fun of his cooking disadvantages.
"Yeah... I think you may be right." He said with a defeated look on his face. "Pizza?"
"Pizza." I said agreeing with him. Vic called the nearest pizza place and ordered one large one for us.
When it got to our house we immediately started eating. I knew I was hungry but I didn't think I was this hungry.
"I can't believe she hasn't woken up yet." I said as I threw the empty pizza box away.
"Yeah. I bet she's just really tired. From what I learned she supposedly is supposed to wake up later tonight." He said as he took a bite from his last slice.
