Vic's POV

I woke up to a bright light in my face. I don't remember much. All I remember is getting drunk, then getting hit by a car. Am I dead? I hope I am. I can't stand a life without Blade.

"Vic?" Someone questioned.

"Huh? Am I dead?" I asked as my vision started to come back.

"No man. You're alive. It's me. Jaime." He said. Shit. I wanted to die.

"Oh. Where am I?" I asked as I looked around.

"The hospital. You got hit. You're not too bad though. Just some bruises and a broken wrist."

"Damn." I mumbled as I sat up.

"Tony is bringing Shiloh here to see you," Jaime said as I started to become more aware of what's going on.

"What? Why?" I questioned. I didn't want Shiloh to know that I got hit by a car in a state of drunkenness after running away from her.

"Because we thought you'd want to see her," Jaime started. "and besides, she misses you so much."

"Well. I guess you're right on that. I just don't want her to see me in this state and get upset." I said.

"Nah, she won't get upset. She's the happiest kid I know," Jaime said with a small smile.

"I know, but what if-"

"Daddy!" Shiloh yelled as she ran in the hospital room.

"Hey Shiloh." I said as I watched her run to my side.

I carefully picked her up with one and set her on my bed.

"I missed you." She said as she clung on to me.

"I missed you too pumpkin." I muttered.

Jaime and Tony smiled before leaving the room and shutting the door so Shiloh and I could just be together.

"Daddy?" Shiloh asked.

"Yes princess?" I responded.

"How did you get hurt?" She asked as she looked at my broken wrist.

"I just made some bad decisions baby." I said calmly.

"Oh." She said as she looked down. "Auntie Erin told me where mommy went."

"What?" I questioned. Why the hell would Erin do that?

"Yeah. She told me that mommy is on a vacation to a great place and that we get to see her there someday."

Tears filled my eyes as she spoke. That made me glad that Erin broke it to her. She told Shiloh better than I ever could have.

"Yeah." I said with a sad smile.

"But, why didn't she take us with her?" Shiloh questioned.

"Well I-" I was thankfully cut off by Erin entering the room.

"Hey Vic." She said. "And hello Shiloh."

"Hi auntie Erin!" Shiloh joyfully said. "We were just talking about you."

"Oh really?" Erin said as she took a seat next to Shiloh on the bed. "What about me?"

"We were talking about what you said. About mommy going on vacation." Shiloh said with a smile.

"Oh yeah," Erin said. "She's in a very nice place."

"I know. But now I'm wondering, why didn't mommy take us with her?" Shiloh asked.
