It's been a few months since our first date and me and Mar have gone on a lot more since then. I feel like I've gotten really close to her. Mar as a person is someone I am lucky to have fallen in love with... and I hope she doesn't change. I think most of our classmates have figured it out that were a couple... but that makes it harder because May really doesn't seem to like Mar. Especially because she's been more outgoing and has more confidence. Hopefully she doesn't try something though... I don't want to think of the backlash... I'll have to keep an eye out.
Though... I have to figure out what my and Mars next step is. Hopefully Cortez can help. He's been a lot busier than usual lately. With what though? I wish he would tell me...
I'm just adding problems aren't I?
I walked into my first period class and yawned. Cortez waved to me from his desk.
As I got to my desk and sat down Cortez smirked.
"Hey Joseph. How are you? Good? Great!"
He pulled a small package from his bag, tightly concealed by a piece of cloth.
"I think I know just what I need to do to get a girl!"
He handed the package to me.
"Here. Hold this for a moment as I explain my plan..."
"Aren't you supposed to be the one helping me?"
Cortez kept his sly smile.
"Of course! But uh... you know I can't face Mar yet... and besides. I think you two are quite the couple. But... I hate to say it-You need to man up bro, and kiss her already. It's time you give your girl some affection!"
K-kiss her... It's not like I haven't thought of that before. I just... uh... I don't know when or...
Cortez looked at me seriously.
"Look. You both like each other right? You will do it eventually. I can't believe she kissed you on the cheek, on your first date, and you haven't done anything."
How'd he know about that?
"Wh-where did you-"
Cortez froze up.
"Ehehe... about that bro... I have kinda been following you guys on your dates-!"
"What?"
"Oh look its Nina. I'm going to go ask her something."
Cortez stood up and walked past me. He just tried to act like he didn't say that.
"Hey Nina. How are you today? I was wondering if-"
"No. I won't be caught dead with a pervert like you. Now if you excuse me-"
"You didn't even let me finis-"
Pepper sprayed out of a can as Nina held it.
"It burns... but not enough to stop my persistence!"
"Shall I bring out the mace?"
"No. No. I think my persistence has failed me-"
Cortez quickly walked back around to his desk. His eyes aren't even teary...
"Why does every girl try to pepper spray me...?"
You really just asked that question? Or... do I even know myself. Maybe it's because he pushes to hard.
"At least these can stop the spray from hurting me..."
Cortez pulled out two contact lenses from his eyes. That explains it.
I remembered the package in my hands.
"Cortez. What's exactly is this?"
A red corner poked out of the package.
Cortez turned red and grabbed ahold of the package.
"N-nothing. Come on bro, it's not like I would by something bad,"
He pulled on the package as it ripped open and allowed a red magazine to fall onto the floor, "ugh..."
The cover read...
"C-Cortez."
I asked nicely.
"How long have you been getting these?"
"N-not that long... maybe... a few years."
"And exactly why?"
"Perverts don't just pop up... they kind of find themselves become one..."
We stayed silent. Cortez picked up his dirty magazine and slid it quickly into his backpack.
"Let's just never mention this again. Agreed?"
"Thank you bro... For understanding. Agreed."
I felt a tap against my shoulder. I turned around to see May.
"Hello Joseph. Nice day, isn't it?"
"Yea... I guess..."
May frowned.
"Well... if you don't want to talk to me, that's fine. Maybe tomorrow..."
Two of her friends looked at me with cold eyes. Why do they have to do that every morning?
