I asked a girl out today... that I think is an accomplishment. Tomorrow were going to meet at the amusement park, since it's the weekend. I feel excited, to be honest. But... I don't like roller-coasters. Mar really wanted to go though, so we decided to meet there... I just hope I'll survive...
I walked onto the doorstep of my house. I looked around for guy1 and guy2. No, they aren't here. That's strange... considering they are horrible at hiding. Maybe they got a vacation. Well, regardless, maybe I'll get some peace and quiet for the rest of today, and I won't have to look over my shoulder for peering eyes every two minutes.
I grabbed ahold of the doorknob unlocked it with my key, turned it and pushed the door open. I walked inside and dropped my keys, and with disbelief, I asked "What are you guys doing?"
Guy1, guy2, and my principle Noel sat on my couch. They all stared at me. Noel only sipped coffee from a foam cup. Guy1 and Guy2 only sat nervously next to her.
"Well, master Joseph, they have come to discuss some business."
I looked to my side to see a maid a little older then I am. She smiled happily and held the keys I dropped in her hand. Since when did I have a maid? Something doesn't seem right.
I looked at guy1 and guy2.
"Can you two tell me what's going on?"
Guy1 was about to talk, but Noel stood up and spoke for them.
"It seems that we are to take up residency in your home. The bosses in management have decided this. And our original bosses' lawyers have decided it fits into the requirements of his will. We are here to move in."
Wait? What? No. No no no no no no no! These people are not staying in my house! That is as bad as letting in a stalker that you know has been watching you... actually... that's exactly what's going on...
"What do my parents have to say about this?"
Noel grimaced.
"They are on an all-expenses paid vacation to Paris for the remainder of your school year. All because of... our dear... dear... employers... Jude and Julianna. The vacation, I was supposed to get..."
Noel pressed hardly onto the foam cup she held, until it collapsed and got coffee poured down her hands. The maid quickly ran to where she was and gave her a small towel.
I don't think she likes my cousins very much...
I stared at the maid.
"Okay... who is she then?"
"I was your uncle's maid, up till his death. Now I'm supposed to be your maid. (At least to get paid.)"
Okay. I have, 3 people who are watching my every move, and a maid. What are my options here? I can't say no. That would bring me conflict with my cousins...
I looked to Noel.
"Fine... it seems as if I have no choice."
Noel sighed.
"Nor do any of us, for that matter..."
This is going to be tough to deal with...
I walked past Noel towards the stairs to my room, as she grabbed ahold of my shoulder.
She handed me a small envelope and said "Here. You're two... I mean, our b-bosses want you to have that."
A letter? That's not good...
"Alright. Now if it's alright with you all... I'm going to my room."
Noel went back to her business and walked into the kitchen.
As I walked up the stairs I heard Guy1 and Guy2 talking.
"Our new bosses are really pushy aren't they?"
"Very. I liked our real boss better..."
"Sad he's gone..."
"How I wish he were still around. He was such a cheerful man. Remember game night every Wednesday?"
"Yes I remember..."
Noel's voice came into earshot.
"You two! Come on and go get settled in!"
"Yes mam!"
I guess they miss my uncle too. He was an interesting guy, with a kind heart. Even if... he did this to me. Why did he put me in this situation anyway? Well... as long as he's gone I'll never know.
I walked to my room opened the door, and walked inside. I shut the door behind me and turned on the light. I looked at the small stuffed killer whale on my counter and smiled.
I took off my shoes and laid on the bed. I looked at the letter Noel gave me. I wonder what else those two could possibly want from me. To add to my list of challenges and problems. My cousins and I never did get along...
I opened the top of the letter. I tried to open it without tearing, but it ripped anyway. I reached inside. There's a small piece of paper. Feels like it's been folded. Huh...
I grabbed it and pulled it out. I dropped the letter and unfolded the piece of paper.
'Dear cousin, we have been informed that you have got a girlfriend. And as our uncles will dictates, we will now have agents watch over her as well. Please understand, however, there is another part of the will. We however will not tell you because of the insolent tone you had with us today. We also arranged both Guy1 and Guy2, and Noel, our head of security the task of watching over both you and your beloved. From your home. I hope you enjoy their company. If you want to know the other part of the will. You will have to come to us, kneel down and beg we forgive you.
-You cousins, Jone and Julianna'
I really don't like those two... and now they are going to make my life a little harder. Mar... What have I got you into? Hopefully she doesn't notice...
and what is this? About another part of the will I don't know about? That's just wrong... and they won't tell me until I beg? That's demoting me to a servant. I'd rather not. Besides. One part of the will? It couldn't be that bad, could it? What I should be worried about, is my date tomorrow...
