I woke up to Ben shaking me awake. He was saying something about how there was some guy waiting downstairs. I groaned and begrudgingly got out of bed and to the door. 'It's probably the UPS guy' I thought as I slowly made my appearance. I was shocked and confused to see Jess and Sam standing in the doorway. It was at that moment that I realized just how horrible I looked. My hair was a mess, my eyes were a puffy from last night, and I was in my bad PJs. Compared to me Sam looked dressed up. He was wearing a red plaid button down on top of a black shirt paired with black jeans and converse. On top of that he had his usual gray beanie. While Sam looked like a casual hipster Jess looked like the adorable 5 year old she was. Her dirty blond hair up in a ponytail wearing a cute pink top with a pair of black leggings.

"Taylor why aren't you ready?" Jess asked confused

"Ready for what?" I asked equally as confused.

"We have a play date today remember?" Ben said behind me. As I turned around to look at him I saw that he was already dressed and ready.

"When did you get ready?"

"When I woke up" He stated as if it was the most obvious thing.

"Oh"

"How about you get ready while we wait here" Jess said as she stepped inside.

"Yea sure" I said as I started back up near my room. I got ready in about 15 minutes. I chose to copy Sam so I wore a red plaid button up with black pants as well as converse. Also I couldn't forget my blue beanie. After I came down ready and changed all of us started walking to the park. Jess and Ben were all the way in the front racing each other while Sam and I were in the back slowly walking as we took our time. He had not said a word to me since he got here.

"Hey Sam" I said as I looked at him. He didn't say a word in reply. He didn't even look at me. He just pulled out his phone. "Sam" I repeated as I tried to get his attention. Once again he didn't acknowledge me. Instead he just put in his earbuds. At this point the park was in view and the kids were already playing. "Sam listen to me" I yelled as I yanked off his earbuds.

"What?" he asked annoyed.

"What is with you?"

"What do you mean?" he asked his voice flaring out in anger.

"I mean why are you mad?"

"Why?" He asked enraged "Do you really not understand? I love you. I always have. I have tried my best to make you happy. I made you happy, and what do you do? You go after some other guy that makes you change. I loved you for who you were. All the good and bad. You barely know the guy, how would you know if he would do the same? How would you know if he would treat you as well as I would? I'm mad that I didn't tell you sooner. I'm mad that you didn't want me. I'm mad that I can't love you anymore. I'm mad that I can't call you mine."

"Sam I-"

"Stop. I don't want your pity" He said sitting down on the bench as we finally reached the park.

"What can I do then?" I asked miserable that I couldn't do anything.

"Let's start over" he offered.

"What?" as I tried to comprehend what was happening.

"Hi, I'm Sam" he said standing up with a cheery smile on his face his hand out waiting for a handshake.

"Taylor" I said with a smile as I shook his hand.

"Sam" Ben yelled as he ran towards us a flower in his hand.

"Yea bud?"

"I need your help" Ben said looking around as if he wanted no one to hear.

"What is it?" Sam asked squatting down so he was in height with Ben. Ben whispered something in Sam's ear. While Sam was listening his eyes went wide for a bit, but he said nothing.
