Nate's POV

1 hour earlier

'Hmm' I thought to myself as I looked at my phone. Taylor seemed pretty upset about Sam yesterday. Max said that girls need time and she had a whole day, but she might still be upset. I should go over to her place and surprise her; maybe I can put her in a good mood. I nodded to myself in agreement and started to change out of my sweats. After changing into a t-shirt and jeans I had a few ideas of what I should do. I went over to my car and bought some random stuff that girls love. I got her some chocolates, a teddy bear, and some really expensive pink roses.

"I hope she likes this" I grumbled to myself as I payed the cashier. I put everything in my car and drove over to Taylor's house. As soon as I was in front of the door, my hands full of stuff I started feeling nervous. 'What if she's really upset? What if she gets mad? What if she doesn't like this?' I shook my head and pushed the negative thoughts out of my mind. 'Happy thoughts' I thought as I rang the doorbell waiting for it to open.

Those 'Happy thoughts' quickly left my mind as I saw Sam behind the door. My emotions must have shown on my face because Sam quickly tried to reassure me that nothing was going on. He called Taylor over and once I saw her my face hardened with suspicion. All she was wearing was a tank top that clung to her body and shorts that were just a bit too short. Her hair was a mess and coincidentally so was Sam's. I don't know about some people, but I don't feel comfortable with my girlfriend wearing that little clothing around another guy.

The look of surprise on her face didn't help me feel any better and the gifts in my hands started to feel heavier as I started to assume the worst.

Taylor's POV

As I ran over to see who was at the door.I saw Nate. The beautiful flowers in his hands seem to droop as I walked in. The chocolates and teddy bear were in a very tight grip. The look on his face showed layers upon layers of emotion. His eyes kept darting between me and Sam; the more he looked the harsher his eyes got. As I looked at myself I realized why. My outfit at the moment wasn't exactly pg and my hair was a mess from falling asleep on the couch. Sam's hair was a mess too, but he didn't fall asleep. Ben messed it up when Sam made fun of him and Jess. To me it seemed like a pretty normal scene, but to someone who didn't know what was going on would have assumed the worst.

"Nate, it's not what you think" I quickly said

"I thought you guys were watching a movie" Nate said with a blank face

"Really?" Sam asked.

"Of course not. It looks like you guys just made out " Nate said his face showing his true raw emotions.

"To be fair we really were watching a movie with the kids" Sam continued

"Kids?" Nate asked looking even more upset and confused.

"Sam, Nate and I are going to talk outside" I said as I pushed Nate outside into the chilly night, leaving Sam behind the doors. It was cold, but I didn't want to look that unfortable. As a wind blew by I unintentionally shivered. Nate noticed and put the gifts on the porch. Afterwards he took off his jacket and wrapped it around my shoulders. I hesitantly took it.

"So um these were for you" He awkwardly said as he pointed to the gifts.

"Thanks" I said with a bright smile.

"No problem"

What's the occasion?" I asked as I tried to think if there was any reason for him to get me anything. There shouldn't; we've only been dating for three days.
