Some people don't like others to feel any kind of pain.

"Pain is everywhere. The world is made of it."

That's why some people carry band-aids inside their jean pockets to cover the wounds of others.

"Band-aids are only temporary."

It's only for the meantime, like a first aid of some sort.

"Then why give it then if it's only temporary?"

For precautionary measures, to avoid further complications.

"You can't save everyone else. Sooner or later, you'll run out of band-aids."

At least you tried. That's all that matters.

"What if they don't want to get saved?"

Then you at least tell them to save themselves.

"What if they refuse to help themselves?"

Honey, even God knows that you cannot help people who do not help themselves.
