CHAPTER 8 *Unedited - READ THE NOTE AT THE END.

Christopher

"I'm busy." Christopher snapped as he sat in his office staring blankly at a sheet of the pack members transferring for studies this new semester to the neighboring packs.

"Doing what?" Nicole snapped as she stood in front of his desk with her arms folded and her shoulders squared.

"We'll discuss this later."

"Put the damn sheet away Christopher," Nicole shouted as Christopher stood up and crumbled the sheet up in his fist. He glared at the fiery blonde women who seemed like a stranger, someone foreign and new.

"You never missed an appointment Christopher and these past few days you've been so distance and so cold," Nicole whispered as Christopher looked down at the table in guilt. She never called him buy his name, it was always Chrissy or Chris or some other pet name she found cute.

"Is it because I can't give you a child Christopher?" Nicole whispered as she stood there watching the man she loved glare down at the table.

"No it's not," Christopher sighed and looked up at Nicole. He had known Nicole for so long and suddenly out of no where a unknown women was standing between them. Fate was cruel. He was happy with Nicole until his wolf met his true soul mate. He loved Nicole and some where inside he still loved Nicole, his wolf was just pushing those feelings down.

"You're lying Chris, I know. Believe me I've been trying so hard to give this to you, but it's not in my hands," Nicole's voice broke as the tears fell. Christopher walked towards her and wrapped her in his arms breathing in her scent. He had to end this and quickly. Once Violet was his and gave him an heir he and Nicole could raise that child and ensure that the fate of the Dwayne pack falls in the right hands.

"Will you come to the next appointment Chris?" Nicole sniffled as she tightly held onto Christopher.

"Yes, I will."

....

Charles sat in the leather seats of his living room. He hated the alpha quarters and so years ago after meeting his mate and the birth of his two sons he decided to break the tradition and move away into a smaller more modern home. A home which he could call his own and where he wouldn't be frowned upon or looked down on.

The pack house was a constant reminder of the times he spent with his only brother Edward and their father. Bitter memories seemed to haunt him every time he entered that building.

He watched Jai hop down the stairs with a small smile lingering on his face as he whistled a soft tune. There was a new light in his son.

"Son," Charles spoke as Jai moved towards his father.

"Dad,"

"I am yet to see the girl who has brought a smile on my most favorite son," Charles said as he nodded towards the couch opposite for Jai to take a seat.

"You'll meet her soon dad. Patience is key," Jai laughed as he watched his father grab the whiskey bottle and fill up the thick crystal glass.

"Is she you're mate?"

"I don't know dad. But this is different. When I saw Ella, I felt like it was forced. Like my wolf had only wanted her but this time I feel like I'm in control. I feel like Jai has fallen in love with her, not my wolf." Jai smiled as he leaned back on the couch and let his eyes wander to the ceiling in bliss. He was bubbling with happiness like a young love sick boy.
