Chapter 2

By the end of the flashback I was in full tears. Just thinking about it makes me feel like it was only yesterday when it happened. It felt so real and I don't know how to make the pain go away. Once I was able to see everyone was looking right at me and Maddie and Rhydian had an worried look on there face. I got up and ran out of the classroom and into the woods. My only safe place left. I sat there on the ground and cried because it was the only thing left to do. After about an hour of sitting there some one came up to me and gave me a hug. I didn't really care who it was at the time because I wanted to feel safe for once in my life. I looked up and see Rhydian hugging me. Well this is unexpected cause I just met him today. I just hugged him back to be friendly and just cried into his shoulder. After a couple of minutes of me crying I lifted up my head and say " th-thanks..." Cause they didn't really have to be here. And if we do go back they will be in trouble because of me. "No... Problem we wanted to make sure that you were ok" says Maddie. I never knew they cared about me. Or anyone at all. With everything that happened with me and my parents I don't really trust anyone easily. But something but Rhydian and Maddie they make me feel safe and sound at heart . I don't know why but ever since I stepped into the classroom and saw them I felt different. I felt more happy,safe,and..... real. But what ever I might just be a phase. " I am fine guys really thanks I was...." I look down not wanting to say that my parents of me being upset. I quickly stood up hearing a bunch of people in the background. I look over at the two other people they brought. I never really knew there names but I guess they got what I was thinking. Cause soon after they said " I'm Tom and this is Shannon" he said well now it won't be that awkward. "Hey nice to meet you" I said cause I don't want to be rude. They smiled and walked up to me to shake my hand. I was scared at first but I got over it because I can't just be rude to them if I don't know them first. After a couple of minutes of silence I decide to get up and run around a bit. I ran to my favorite spot in the woods. It was a little river that had water lilies and multiple trees so it would be hidden among nature. I guess they followed me because by the time I turned around they were at the top of the hill. I smiled at them and sat down on the river bank. They came down and stood next to me and took in all the beauty this spot had to offer. "Wow.... This place is beautiful" Maddie says "yea I know I come here all the time when I'm upset it's calming to me...." I look up and see Rhydian with wonder in his eyes. I never seen anyone like Rhydian and Maddie they seam soo... Open and fun to be around. I walk around the river and went to the tiny waterfall that lead to a little cave only to fit one person. I decide to to head back to where everyone else was until I heard....
