Chapter 6 Family Reunion

I didn't take long to get back to our territory, once there I slowed to a nice walk enjoying the feel of my mother safely sleeping on my back. I made sure to take my time to get back to the pack house; I wanted to enjoy my time with my mother. Not having her for so long killed me, she thought she was the lucky one with having me for a daughter. I thought I was the lucky one for having such an amazing mother, she sacrificed herself for me, and that is something I will do every day trying to pay her back for. To soon I emerged from the woods and made my way to the pack house, as usual the pack was out and about, I seen Uncle Seth talking and playing with the pups. He caught me scent and snapped his eyes to mine. He quickly looked to my back and seen my mother soundly sleeping and make his way over to me.

"KaiLeigh how" was all he asked looking at my mother with a soft look.

"I'll explain everything, but will you gently pick her up so I can shift back" I asked him and see him nod. He gently picked my mother up and she stirred and opened her eyes. I quickly shifted back and looked at how much they both looked alike; I see my mother look around until her eyes land on Uncle Seth and her face lights up into a smile that I haven't seen in forever.

"Seth, I've missed you brother" she said quickly before she grabs him into a tight embrace and he without hesitation wraps her up as well. They didn't let go until forever but finally they pull apart and he sets her onto her feet.

"We've all missed you; I know mom and dad will be so happy you're safe. And you" he said pointing at me, I gave him my innocent eyes and he just laughed.

"How did you manage this" he said, I could tell he wasn't mad he just wanted to know, just as I was about to start explaining my mother cut me off with a wink.

"Seth you should have seen her, she challenged the Alpha and made him submit. My daughter is so amazing she made her terms quite clear so he could find a loop hole" my mother stated proudly while looking at me with a smile, one I had to return back. I could see the admiration on his face as he nodded accepting the outcome.

"Well Helen, I know there are two people who have missed you more than life itself, how about we go pay a visit to good old ma and pop" Uncle Seth stated as he looped his arm around my mother's and she looped her arm around mine. She nodded up at Seth and we went to find Grandma and Papa. We made our way into the house and I could tell Uncle Seth was mind linking his parents to find out where they were.

"Okay Helen and KaiLeigh go into the kitchen, I told them that I needed to speak with them and to meet me in the living room" Uncle Seth said quietly as my mother grabbed my handed and ran into the kitchen. After a few minutes we heard them arrive and take seats in the living room.

"Is everything okay Seth? What's wrong" I heard my Papa asked him in a rush.

"Yes everything is absolutely perfect now" I heard Uncle Seth say, I could hear the smile in his voice.

"I don't understand son you said it was urgent" he asked slightly confused now.

"It is, you see our dear KaiLeigh has a present for all of us" he said proudly and I knew that was my cue I held up one finger to my mother to wait there for just a minute and I entered the living room. They all looked up at me and Uncle Seth had a knowing smirk plastered onto his face.

"Well I thought since my wolf gave me back control it was time to celebrate" I told them as a glorious smile lit up my face.

"What is dear" my Grandma asked me, I didn't even have to respond as my mother made her way into the room. The reaction was instantaneous, a sob broke out of my Grandma and she bolted to her daughter quickly followed by my Papa. The both grabbed her into a tight hug and the tears started. My mother returned their embraces and I could see tears were falling down her face as well. The reunion went on for a long time after that, I could feel the happiness in the air and it was contagious. When things settled down, we were all sitting on the couch. My grandparents we're holding each other happily on the love seat. My mother was leaning on Uncle Seth and she had me on her lap playing with my hair. Everything feel right now, we could finally live in peace.

"I am so very happy your back, but how" my Papa finally asked, my mother smiled down at me lovingly as she spoke.

"I am here with you all today thanks to my amazing daughter" she stated proudly.

"She challenged my old Alpha and she made her tear before they fought so there was no loop hole. You should have seen her not only did she draw first blood, but she made him submit to her" she continue while she gazed at me unconsciously played with my hair.

"Well my granddaughter really is something" I heard my Papa mumble.

"We should have a ceremony to welcome you back into the pack "Uncle Seth suddenly said, we all sat up and looked at him with smiles. I was only ten am so we were going to do it tonight. My Grandma shoots up and started to call pack members aside to help decorate and set up.

"Honey, I think I'm going to take a nap, I'm exhausted" she said as she yawned. I was pretty exhausted myself.

"I think I'll join you" I told her as we both stood up, she grabbed my hand and lead me up the stairs. I was about to turn when she pulled me in the other direction.

"Mom, my rooms this way" I told her, she looked over at me and just smiled.

"I know honey, I'm bringing you to my old room" she told me as we reached the Alpha family floor. We stopped in front of a pink door with Helen written onto it. She grabbed the knob and turned it and led me inside. The room faintly smelled like my mom, as I looked around the room, it must not have been changed since she found her mate at the age of sixteen. It was a teenager's paradise there was a giant flat screen TV with shelves upon shelves of movies; it looked like there was every game system you could ever image in here as well.

"Wow ma, you sure do have style" I told her while we made our way over to the bed. We both climbed onto the bed and just looked at each other, but something caught my eye on her dresser. It was a picture that I had never seen before; she was hugging someone who looked vaguely familiar. He had auburn hair and the same green eyes as me he also had my chin and eye shape, who was this man.

"Mom, who is that in that picture" I asked her while pointing to it. I see her follow my eyes and landed upon the photo, she reached over to grab it. She started at it for a few moments before she stroked it.

"That's my mate Gabriel and your father" she told me sadly, I felt the tears sting my eyes as she handed over to photo to me. I studied it and memorized his face, I had never seen a picture of him before, only heard stories, I also stroked the picture.

"I wish I could've met him" I said in a sad whisper.

"Baby, he would have loved you, he's watching down on us" my mother told me as she took the picture and replaced it back to its original spot.

"Let's take that nap before this big party tonight in our honor" my mother told me as she pulled me close to her. She cuddled me into her side and played with my hair until we both feel into a content sleep. This is want was missing for what felt like forever, this is how it should be wrapped up into my mother arms every night.
