"You okay?" William asks, his eyes show how worried he is.
I nod and smile, the memories can never be replaced. The day we found out my mother almost killed herself and the twins makes me feel sick.
I follow him to the backyard, where there seems to be a bonfire, and people everywhere are drinking. I wonder where Logan got the alcohol, but most likely someone else got it. I try not to bump into people, but it seems like the whole school is here. The clean up is going to suck.
"Hey, William!" His friends call him from across the yard.
They walk towards us, giving us weird looks.
"You guys together, dude?" One of them smiles.
I smile and try to act like I wasn't paying attention. I don't know what to say, we're not a thing.
"Yeah, we are." I look at him and he smiles.
He just told them we're together. In all honesty, this hasn't been made official yet, but he sort of did. I don't understand why he can't just say no...
"Harm and I are actually going somewhere." Will looks at me. "We'll see you guys later."
I can see that he wants to be alone, again. I don't want to be alone with him at the moment. All that will do is cause me to ask questions. Lots of them. Questions I don't want to ask, and he won't answer.
"Come on, let's go get something to drink." He pulls me to the area where everyone is.
I can see that Logan let everyone know that the pool was off limits, obviously it's December and nobody wants to swim in the snow. The pool is empty, I know that since I emptied it last month, and it has the covering, to keep out rainwater and snow. I see that people are dancing on it, and all I can think of is them breaking it and falling it. I'd be angry, since my parents would probably flip if we broke their pool covering.
William and I weave through the crowd, which seems to grow every second. Logan put out a couple tables and set out snacks and drinks for everyone. I also know he asked people to bring things. I can see cookies and cupcakes that Logan obviously didn't get. There's a thing about party food that makes me not want to eat it. William grabs two cups from the table and reaches for the punch bowl.
"No," I say before he serves us.
"What?" He says confused.
"I don't eat or drink things from parties." I sigh. "You never know what's in them, you know?"
He chuckles and nods.
"Let's go dance or something," I say with a smile.
William nods and we walk to the living room, it's packed, but most people seem to want to be outside for some reason. We find a place empty enough to dance in.
We danced for a while, but the crowd got worse by the minute.
I look at William and he smiles.
"I'm hungry now," he yells over the music. "Let's go see what's in your kitchen."
Quite frankly, I doubt my kitchen is even going to have anything anymore. I know Logan locked the cabinets with the cups, plates, silverware, and medicine so that nobody would touch them. But the ones with food were fully available to the masses of teens looking for food.
"You seem a bit uncomfortable," William looks at me. "Are you?"
I look at him and then look down. Am I uncomfortable?
"No," I laugh. "I'm fine, just not very happy about all this."
I look around, the music gets louder and louder. I look for any familiar faces but see none.
