What He Doesn't Know

Chapter 15

"You were gone for a year. Neither of us could've gotten you pregnant!" William yells.

"My son is 7 months old." 

I'm sitting on the couch, I passed out and all the attention had gone to me. But now, I drank water and some juice. Then we all sat down and we're just trying to get the details.

"Who is the father?" Liam demands.

"I don't know!" She looks down.

I'm having a hard time comprehending this. They're both potentially the father of this child, and one of them is my brother, and the other one is my potential boyfriend. I mean, my crush... Let's just forget I said that.

"You have to get a test," Liam yells. "I can't have a kid. I can't!"

I look at William, he seems to be really quiet. He's thinking, I can tell. He's scared... but not as much as Liam. If Liam is a father, then he can't go to NYU, mom would make him stay and take care of his child. And I doubt this girl is going to want to move to New York. SHE COULD LITERALLY BE MY SISTER IN LAW AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW HER NAME.

"Uh, sorry to interrupt, but... what's your name?" I ask quietly.

She looks at me and stares, then she looks at Liam.

"Who is she? And is it necessary for her to be here?" She says.

"Okay, you know what? This is my house! I'm Liam's sister, so if you have any business with him, I have every right to be here!" I stand up. "So if you have a problem with me, then leave."

She looks at me, she looks shocked. I look a William, who is clearly amused, but Liam looks like he didn't hear a thing I said.

"I'm Vanessa." She smiles. "Great to meet you."

Wow, okay. I sit down next to William and he hugs me. I look at him and chuckle, he's in a bad spot right now and he needs me.

Liam stands up and goes to his room, he comes back with his keys. 

"Let's go." He says to all of us.

"Where?" William stands up.

"Hospital, we're going to clear this up right now."

"We can't!" Vanessa stands up. "I don't have Jonas."

"Why wouldn't you bring him?" I ask.

"Because I wasn't about to drive 8 hours with a baby in the car just for you guys to not be here." She says to me. "I had to be sure. Besides, my sister said I shouldn't."

"Then we're going to him." Liam sighs.

Wait, what?

"Hold up, I have things to do. I can't just go on an 8-hour drive with you." William groans.

"I don't care!" Liam looks at him. "He could be your child!"

"Liam, what about mom and dad?" I ask.

"You can wait for them to get home and tell them I had a football thing." He sits down.

"No, there's no way you're going without me." I shake my head and cross my arms.

"Harm, you can't."

"If she wants to go, then she can." William challenges Liam.

"You stay out of this, she's my sister." Liam stands up and walks towards William.

"So? She has a decision too." William's hands form into fists

"Enough." Vanessa stands between the boys. "None of you are coming with me."
