I don't know why I'm here, sitting next to William, discussing that weekend that makes no sense to me whatsoever.
"What happened?" He asked softly.
"You kissed me."
"Right..." He smiles.
"Why did you kiss me?"
"I'm going, to be honest with you," he looks at me. "I don't know."
I nod, meaning that I understand, and I do. I don't know why I'm here, he doesn't know why he kissed me. It makes perfect sense.
"Are you dating Victoria?" I blurt out.
"What?" He seems surprised. "Of course not. She's not exactly my type."
I want to laugh, but I don't.
"What is your type?"
"Uh..." I catch him off guard. "I don't know."
"Okay." I look down, not knowing what to say now.
"Why are you dating Scott?"
"I'm not dating him yet," I say softly. "But I like him."
"Do you really?"
No.
"Yes."
I look at him through the corner of my eyes, why does he ask me all this?
"What were you going to tell me yesterday?" He softly speaks as he looks at the sky.
"Uhm."
What was I going to tell him? That I'm just dating Scott to get over him? Because that's only partially true, of course, I don't want him to know that.
"It wasn't anything." I shake my head.
"Yes it was, you were going to say something."
"I was just going to say that you should start minding your own business," I mutter.
"Oh." He sounds hurt.
"Yeah..."
"Well, whatever." He jumps off the bleachers.
"I don't want to get in a fight with you, William," I say before he walks away.
"Neither do I."
I don't look at him, feeling his eyes on me, I take a deep breath.
"So you like soccer."
I look up for a second and our eyes meet, making me look away instantly.
"Yeah, I guess."
"You guess?"
I smile. "I mean, I don't play that much anymore."
"How about football."
"Gross." I scrunch up my nose.
"What?" He chuckles.
"Football sucks."
"It does not!" He argues.
"Well, that's my opinion."
"How can you hate football when your brother is a varsity player, and you go to his games all the time."
"Well, yeah, I just don't like playing it."
"Do you even know how to?"
"No," I admit and he smiles.
"That's why."
"I just don't like it, it's not because I can't play. I don't even want to learn to play."
