You walked behind Korra wearing the traditional a or bending outfit. You walked up the stairs and saw the 'be the leaf' contraption. Did Tenzin have a death wish? Korra was not going to like this in the least. You groaned at the small smirk on the kids faces. Korra raised an eyebrow.
"What is this?" Korra asked.
"A contraption from Hell." You responded sarcastically. Korra chuckled.
"It's an old air bending thing, it's meant to teach direction, air benders have to be able to move at a moment's notice." Tenzin explained.
"The goal is to move through without touching the boards." Jinora explained.
"Seems easy enough." Korra smiled.
"While they move." You added on. Tenzin started it up and let Jinora and the leaf demonstrate before letting Korra go. You watched in half amusement half horror as Korra beat herself up through the simulation. You took a deep breath before twisting through the planks. You weren't even thinking when you came put unscathed everyone including you was shocked.
"Well then...." You smiled awkwardly.
"How did you do that?" Korra asked.
"I don't know. I wasn't even thinking." You looked into Korra's teal eyes noticing gold flecks hidden in them.
"You have to be kidding." Korra exclaimed.
"You know what? I think we're done for today." You smiled racing for your room.

The next morning you and Korra didn't have any training so you were free to practice other elements or read or whatever. You could hear the water calling to you but decided to read the story of Omashu. When you were finished it was nightfall. You knew where Korra was. You hid on the roof next to her nearly scaring her out of her skin. But you listened none the less. You listened until it stopped suddenly.
"Korra come down here." Tenzin called. Korra tipped herself upside down and rolled into the area you followed her example. You listened to the two rant at each other until you just left.

You woke to a meditation session. You were almost there when Korra opened her mouth. You tried to focus but when you opened your eyes they instantly locked onto the burnt broken be like the leaf contraption.
"If you two are going to be loud and irritated I'm leaving." You stood standing up and leaving. It was near arena time when Korra dragged you out of your meditation state throwing some clothes at you. She timed your jump so you could leave the Island without being detected. When you got into the arena Korra wanted to explore the gym. You were impressed with the equipment and all until a guy with green eyes and rumpled dark hair came in and saved you and Korra from being arrested. You followed him and Korra to the area where the lockers are. You leaned over the railing blocking out the Bolin Korra and what's his face conversation. A light breeze blew off the water splash mist all over your face. The lights nearly blinded you but this was amazing. You watched the match must like that. Staring at the match examining every little detail. You couldn't stifle your frustration when Hasook fell into the drink taking Bolin with him. Or when Mako took them all out. When they stepped off the court Korra was thrilled.
"That was amazing!" She exclaimed.
"Oh, your still here." Mako muttered.
"Oh, your still a jerk." You snapped. Korra was practically bouncing when Bolin took the two of you into the training arena after they found out she was the Avatar. You still felt like background leaning against a support beam watching Korra bend.
"What do you bend?" Mako asked.
"Me? I bend air and water." You hummed. The boys looked at you eyes wide. You made a ball of air in one palm and water in the other. The guys looked at you amazed.
"So your Tenzin's kid?" Bolin asked.
"Nope. I'm from the South Pole." You smiled slightly.
"Well then show us what you got." Bolin said excited. You stepped up to the block using the water you always carried with you. You were constantly light like an air bender so when you lifted off you weren't shocked. You always had a little hop to your bending style. You whipped the water dead center of the net but caught it the same time before it hit the wooden floor. You returned the water to its pouch.
"You are extremely light on your feet, but you also need to be solid as well." Bolin commented.
"Also move a bit more like the water. Smooth and able to change." Mako added on. You hummed taking the advice quietly. After Mako left you decided to leave Korra and Bolin. You went home changing into your pajamas and opening your window looking out at the bay feeling the wind on your face, reminding you exactly of that arena where you met some of the best benders in the city.
