35. The End/ Epilogue

"We stand here together in the memory of Hamilton Nash Grier," said the priest.

"..a son, a husband, and a father. Taken from us too early. Can we please bow our heads in prayer."

Connor reached up and held my hand and Sam held my other hand while he held Ava.

"Dear Father, please take care of the Grier family through this tragedy. Look over this family, protect, and love this family. Amen."

Connor pulled on my hand and I looked down at him. I could see through my tears that he also had tears streaming down his red cheeks.

Nash got in a plane crash and died in the hospital two days after.

Brenna gets married again after being widowed for 15 years to a man named Kyle.

Connor is in his senior year of high school and Ava is a sophomore.

Sam got married a few years after Nash's death to his girlfriend.

Kian also got married and had three kids. He also visits the Griers often.

Brenna's POV

15 years later

"Bren?" I heard Kyle call.

"In here," I choked.

"What's wrong?" He made his way over to the bed and held my hands.

"I can't believe it's been fifteen years. It seems like yesterday when we got married. I had this beautiful dress and Connor looked so cute," I smiled, "I miss him so much."

"I know you do," he sat next to me, "want to go visit him today?"

I nodded and wiped my nose on my sleeve.

"Okay," he kissed my forehead, "I'll go get Ava and Con."

"Nash," I said kneeling down I front of his grave.

"We miss you baby. I hope you're doing good. I am. Kyle's a great guy. You'd like him. He's been a great role model for Connor. Speaking of Con; our little baby is about to graduate. Isn't that crazy? I can remember holding him when he was born. Those were the days... I love you Nash," I kissed my hand and patted his head stone. I stood up, wiped my tears, and walked over to Kyle and the kids.

"Your dad was a great man," I smiled at Connor and Ava. I wish he could see how beautiful you guys are," I rubbed my thumb across Ava's cheek to wipe her tears.

"He'd be so proud of you."
