Amber slowly opened her eyes to the familiar buzzing of her alarm clock. She picked up the annoyingly loud item and threw it hard across the room. It hit the floor with a loud thud and all went silent. A little too silent actually. Amber looked towards the window puzzled.
'Since when is New York so quiet?', she thought to herself.
She got out of her covers and onto her feet from her bed. She put on her fleecy white nightgown and fluffy white bunny slippers and rushed to the window to see the streets below eerily empty. She was so confused. She rushed downstairs and yelled "Mum, Amy. Where are you guys?". She was trying to stay calm.
She couldn't cry even if she wanted to, she hadn't cried since her father died. She was too hurt. "Ok Amber, don't jump to conclusions, it's probably Black Friday. No one's ever in sight on Black Friday." She checked her phone and saw it was Monday. OK. Now she started to panic.
She rushed to the front door to see it slightly open. What the heck? Who had done that? Now she was really freaking out. She barged through the front door into the street and yelled "Hello? Is anybody here?"
Amber rushed back inside and raced up the stairs to her room. She then opened her cupboard and put on her black leggings and her black top with a picture of a wolf on it and threw on some black slip-on shoes and once more raced down the stairs.
