She ran straight back out the front door and knocked on everyone's front doors patiently waiting for a reply. Suddenly from next door but one she heard a voice doing the exact same thing as her. Panicking. Amber rushed to the door of the house and looked at the number. "198, how come I've never spoken to them before..." She said to herself, she ignored her thoughts for a moment and knocked on the door.
She suddenly heard someone race down the stairs and stop at the door. This person could be anyone. She had no clue who was on the other side of this door. The letterbox opened "Who are you and what do you want" said the voice. It had a shaky tone to it but she completely understood what the person said and she recognised the voice. Ryan. "Oh god. Your the only person I can find?" She sighed "well it's me, Amber I live at 175 and you seem to be the only person around." Said Amber
"That's a nice way to greet someone Amber. What do you want" he said with the door opening slightly now. "I want to speak to your parents and find out where everyone's gone..." Amber stated. She still had hope... She hoped at least someone but her and Ryan were around. Ryan had opened the door now and saw her completely and faked a smile.
"I'm sorry but my mum isn't here. Shes disappeared. If you like you can come in. I'll keep you company" said Ryan kindly "That's very sweet but um" she looked around trying to find something else to do. She couldn't go into a house with Ryan alone. He used to be a school bully and bullied the years below him. Back then she didn't want anything to do with him. But right now, she didn't really have much of a choice.
She looked back at Ryan sweetly and said "thanks that would be nice" Ryan smiled at her and she smiled back and stepped inside. "Make yourself at home, would you like a drink. Milk? Orange juice, maybe?"
"I'll have some H2O, please" Amber stated with a polite smile. "Um, you mean water?" Said Ryan a little worried about what he had got himself into. "Haha. I was only joking. Got any Fanta? Orangeade?" She smiled sweetly again Ryan smiled back. "Haha, yeah I have Fanta. In the can or in a glass?" He enquired.
"Can. It goes flat quicker in a cup." Said Amber relaxing now and getting used to the company from Ryan. "Really? I didn't know that. You seem to be smart" Ryan exclaimed. "Surprised? I'm not that smart. I just know a few tips and tricks in life. Call it cheats if you will. Makes life easier." Said Amber calmly "Cool" was Ryan' reply who had now appeared from the kitchen and handed Amber her can of Fanta. He sat beside her with a can of coca-cola and spoke for a while. Though their parents didn't come home.
"I wonder where everyone is." Said Ryan. In the corner of Ambers' eye, she saw something flashing red outside. She got out of her seat. "Just a minute" she then went outside to investigate.
