Thanksgiving was big deal for both the Fuentes' and the Graham-Perry's. Like huge. One year the Fuentes' would host the big feast and then the year after, my Aunts' would host it. It's gone on for as long as I could remember. Jaime and Tony's families would come too, and it'd be one big family feast. Things like this got me excited, because I loved when we were all together.
I remember the first one I went to, at my Aunts'. It was the first time I had met Mike and Vic. I was fourteen, and it was during the time my parents and I first moved to California from New York. I felt nauseous, remembering both of my parents. I felt so sick in the stomach. It was the first yet last one my mother went to, because she killed herself a year later. Her death anniversary was approaching, but I was trying my best to stay positive.
This year, it was being held at the Graham-Perry's and we were all getting prepared. Whoever's house it may be, the other would still go over and help. So, the Fuentes' were over in the afternoon, and a straight line was formed as Aunt Diana and Vivian became dictators of the day. Vivian was slapping the rolling pin in her hand, walking back and forth in front of us. Aunt Diana said she was inspecting us, but it seemed more of her intimidating us.
"Alright," Vivian's voice was loud, and I was already scared.
"Mike and Frankie," Vivian pointed to them with her rolling pin, "You are both responsible for cleaning the entire first floor."
The youngens both sucked their teeth, and groaned. "Why are we stuck with cleaning?! What about the other two teenagers here?" Mike protested, and Frankie nodded her head besides her.
"Because Vic and Magnolia can actually cook," Aunt Nathalie replied with an innocent grin.
"Oh, and we're the older ones," I added, batting my eyelashes.
"We were born the same year, Maggie!" Mike scoffed.
"You both suck at cooking," Vic said with a laugh afterwards.
"Fine, whatever!" Frankie tied her hair up.
"It's all for a good cause anyways, Francesca," Aunt Diana told Frankie, handing her a broom. "You said you had a friend coming over, didn't you?"
Frankie nodded quietly.
"What's her name?" Aunt Nathalie questioned, holding Monica's hand.
"Well, h-his name is Alex," Frankie stuttered, scratching her head.
I began to smile, but I wanted to hide it since I was the only one who actually knew who Alex was. Vic looked at me like I was insane, and I stuck my tongue at him. I was so proud of Frankie, I knew my aunts would love Alex. But, on the other hand, I was extremely worried about Mike's reactions, along with the others. Aunt Nathalie, Aunt Diana and Vivian exchanged looks. Their eyebrows were arched, and well I had no idea what they were thinking. I don't even know how they could talk with eye contact, maybe it's some secret adult thing.
"Alright," Aunt Diana nodded at Frankie and then turned towards Vic and I. "You two are in charge of dessert."
I glanced at Vic and he gave me a wink. Rolling my eyes, I knew this was going to be interesting.
Vic hummed lightly reading the directions on the back of the cardboard box while his brown eyes darted back and forth, memorizing the details. I set the ingredients down, waiting for him to tell me to do something. He placed the box down, sliding a bowl towards me. I furrowed my eyebrows, waiting for some instructions.
"Okay, pipsqueak. I'm gonna need you to mix the liquid ingredients. The milk, eggs, melted butter and vanilla extract," Vic passed them over, and I nodded. While whisking the ingredients, I found myself distracted by him. He took over my thoughts, he took over my mind. He was so concentrated, I found it highly adorable.
"Hey, do you mind getting me blueberries?" Vic questioned, and I slid towards the fridge. I grabbed the carton of berries, and slid in front of Vic handing it to him.
He popped a blueberry in his mouth, "Thanks, babe."
My eyes widened, and the blueberry fell back into his hand. Did I hear Vic right? Did he just call me babe? Vic flustered, while I was frozen in position. "Uh. Um, it sorta just, urm, sorry, it kinda fell out," Vic's lips were pressed together and he stood silently.
"I, well, I don't have a problem with it..." I awkwardly scratched the back of my head, looking anywhere but at him. "Vic, what are we?" I wanted to mentally slap myself, I had no self control. Damn it, Magnolia. My eyes caught up with Vic, and with a smirk, he let out a soft chuckle.
"I don't know."
"What don't you know?" I legitimately couldn't stop, I had no shame. I was insanely curious.
He huffed, putting the whisk down. "I dunno. I'm not sure what you want, y'know?"
"Well, I'm not sure what you want, either." I crossed my arms, stepping closer towards him.
"I know what I want, Maggie. I want to be your fucking boyfriend," Vic bluntly told me, extremely straightforward.
"Well, maybe I wanna be your fucking girlfriend," I looked up with a serious stare.
Vic cupped my face with his hands, giving me a sweet kiss. I wrapped my arms around him, deepening the kiss, and my eyes were squeezed shut. I felt like I was on cloud nine, because Vic was officially my boyfriend. I felt him smile in between, which made me do so too. Vic pulled away, tucking strands of hair behind my ears.
"Does this mean I can change my status to, in a relationship on facebook?" He winked, and I rolled my eyes before bursting into laughter.
I kissed him again, hoping I could live in this moment forever.

YOOOOO they're finally a couple, yay! Sorry, it's short, I thought it'd be right to end the chapter here. Also, I'm sorry for updating late, I updated three times two weeks ago so I took a little break.
