Chapter 17

I wake up the next morning, I don't even remember fallen asleep last night. Marcus promised to explain everything today. Just as yesterday there was a tray of food over by the door. I walk to pick it up. This morning it is eggs, toast, and a big glass of water. By the time I finish it Colton walks in.

"Good morning Miss Baker. Did you sleep well?"

"Yes thank you."

"Good. Come on time to go."

"Ok" I say following out of my room. We walk down what seems to be the same hallways as before but I have no idea where anything is in this building.
"What made you wanna help Marcus?" I ask Colton not sure why I asked tho.

"My sister died when she was really young from the viris. I wanted to help find a cure so no one else would have to go through what she did. So when I turned 18 two years ago I came to Marcus." He says.

"What viris?" I ask.

"Marcus will explain everythin." He says. We walk into a room just like the one I had yesterday. One chair in the middle of the room a computer and a small window letting in a small amount of light.

"Good morning Elizabeth." Lydia says.

"Morning Lydia. Where is Dr.Freeeman and Rachel?" I ask noticing neither of them were there. Colton had also left.

"Dr. Freeman will be in shortly and Rachel is with another paitent today. Please take a seat I need to take another blood sample."

"Ok." I say taking a seat as she gets the needle ready. I really hate needles I justdon't trust the doctors and what they put in my body.

"Done." she says the needle doesn't bother me today though.

"Good morning Miss Baker." Marcus says walking in.

"Morning." I reply dryly.

"Lydia could you give us some privicy?"

"Of course." She says as she walks away.

"Ok you promised me an explaination." I tell Marcus.

"Of course. Ok over 70 years ago the U.S.A as it used to be called split into the 8 sectors which we inhabit asof today. 20 years ago there was a really bad viris. Once someone got it they had one week at best. It died out untill a year ago its slowly making its way back."

"Why have I never heard of such a viris?" I ask

"It hasn't sectors 5 and 6 yet."

"What do I have to do with any of this?"

"Your blood fights off the infection!"

"How do you know this?" I ask so confused by everything he is telling me.

"My job is to find a cure. Your brothers blood was almost enough to make one but it's missing something. We were thinking it was you."

"Is my blood what you need?"

"I have no idea yet the tests aren't complete."
What the heck is wrong with this guy how am I any different from anyone else?
