[Okay, so I wrote this a loooong time ago, back when my main goal wasn't to kill people's feels, and I haven't looked at it since. And I noticed how many sad oneshots I've written and decided to put this one in to brighten the mood.]

"Lachlan!" I shouted into the open door. There was no answer. Stepping inside, I was worried he wasn't home. Then, I heard footsteps upstairs.

"Vikk? I'm up here." I heard him say. I followed the sound of his voice up the stairs and to his room.

"Hi, Lachlan." I said when I finally reached him. I pulled him into a hug, and he hugs back happily. "I have a gift for you!"

"Oooh! What is it?" He asks like a little nine-year-old boy. His eyes were wide with excitement, and he had a wide smile on his face. It reminds me of a small child on Christmas morning. I take a little box out from behind my back and give it to him. It was about the length of his entire hand, from fingertip to wrist. When he opened it, a little winged creature flew out.

"OH MY GOD! IT'S A ZUBAT!" Lachlan squealed. I giggle a bit as he chases the bat around the room. He stops when it lands on top of my head. "Thank you, Vikk. It's awesome."

"Anything for you, Lachlan. Absolutely anything." I reached up and grabbed the back of his head. Standing on my tiptoes, I was just barely tall enough to press my lips against his. He kisses back, and, like every time we kiss, I feel happiness rush through my body. When we finally pull away, the Zubat had flown off, but we couldn't care less.

"I love you, Lachlan." I whisper into his shirt, which my face was pressed into. "So much."

"I love you too, Vikk. More than I love my Zubat."
