Chapter 8

[Skylar POV]

I wonder what Zayn and Luke are doing in his room. I get out of the thought and go to the stove to put the kettle on. I hear the door close upstairs and footsteps coming down the stair way. I look over and see Zayn at the bottom of the stairs smirking at me. I blush a little and continue to make the tea.

"So what did Luke make you do up there?"

"He made me draw and color and dinosaur for him."

I giggle and hand him a cup and we go over to the table to sit down. It was quiet for at least a moment then Zayn started to talk.

"So Skylar how've you been?"

"I've been good, you?"

"I've been alright."

"Alright? You're in a boy band and you're only alright?!"

He laughs then smiles at me. I knew he missed me.

"Yeah haha. You should meet the lads sometime they're great!"

"I'd be delighted to!"

I say cheerfully almost jumping out of my seat. I finished my tea and went to go put the cup into the dishwasher. Zayn followed me back into the kitchen.

[Zayn POV]

I miss how Skylar made me laugh a lot. I followed her back into the kitchen to give her my cup. I handed it to her and she smiled at me as I smile back. As she was putting it into the dishwasher she asked me a question.

"So who's this girl Perrie you're now dating?"

I pause for a moment, with bit of shock.

"Oh her...."

"I was just wondering."

She says looking towards the floor with slight disappointment.

"Well she is this very nice girl that management wants me to date for publicity for her band."

"And you agreed?"

"Well yeah, I mean I couldn't say no and get fired. The boys are my best friends now and I don't want it all to be over because of something stupid."

"I see."

"Its not too bad. I mean it could have been worse I guess."

"How?"

"I dunno. I was just saying."

She looks up from the floor and walks into the living room and plops down on the couch.

"What to watch a movie?!"

She asks with he eyes lit up like a child on christmas morning.

"Sure!"

I say smiling right back at her. I sit down next to her and she lays her head down in my lap starting a movie. I noticed she put in our favorite movie. The Lion King. When we first met we both liked that movie and we would watch it ever time she came over or if I came over. We know every word.

"Remember when we used to watched this all the time Zayn?"

She asked when looking up at me and smiling.

"Haha yeah I miss that."

I say smiling back at her. Towards the end of the movie Skylar starts to fall asleep. I gently moved her hair out of her face and lift her head up and place her on the couch. I shut the TV and grabbed a blanket to cover her. She looks so beautiful I miss being with her. I kiss her cheek and walk into the kitchen to get a snack. I look over at the stairs and see Luke standing there with a sleepy look on his face.

"Hey little sleepy man!"

"Hi Zayn! You're still here?"

"Yeah haha. Want a snack?"

"Yes please!"

I go into the cupboard and get him a gummy pack. I hand it to him as he grabs it and opens it. I grab my self an apple and go to sit next to Luke when I see Skylar get up. Rubbing her eyes as she walks into the kitchen.

"Afternoon sleepyhead!"

"Hi..."

She says groggily still trying to wake up. She walks to the fridge and grabs a water. Walks over to Luke and kisses his little cheek as she smiles at him and he repays her with one.

"Hey Luke after your snack how about we go play outside?"

"Okay Skyle!"

He quickly finishes his snack and runs upstairs to get his shoes. I look over at Skylar she's in front of the mirror in the hallway by the bathroom fixing her bed head. I walk in front of the mirror and she gives me and angry look.

"Skylar you're beautiful no need to fix your hair."

I smile at her and she give me one back. She goes to get her shoes on as I put mine back on. Luke comes running down the stairs and outside like a flash of lightning. Skylar and I laugh as we walk out the door and sit on the porch swing. We swung for a little bit as we watch Luke playing around on the yard. I looked over at Skylar and the way the light hit her face made me love her more than ever. I noticed her hand by her side. I then grabbed her hand and intertwined our fingers. She looks at me shocked for a moment then looks away and smiles. I loved and missed this feeling inside.
