water rushing free and fast
flowing crisply quickly past
loves a swift white watered stream
and once I swam the waters as I pleased
in the deepest depths of the warmest springs
in the bluest purest pool where sunlight gleams
never did I fear death
nor getting pulled under
the waves I let embrace me
but then I heard thunder
then suddenly came winter
without warning came snow
I stood bare, unprepared
encased in bitter cold
and leaves changed to beauty
only to be covered in ice
there my lake changed to glass
swallowed by raven night
I witnessed nature's power
its merciless wrath
so I lay still a crystal
the wretched storm I let pass
and at the bottom I lay frozen
waiting for spring for sweet summer
for suns expecting warmth
that once I thrived under
and yes one day it came
a long time after forever
and I swam to the surface
cautiously I reentered
I took a deep breath
yet still I smelled of death
yet I still lost the war
silver mist on my breath
wings broken on shore
like a white fallen dove
unable to soar
the wind swallowed my faith
and the sun scorched my dreams
I wish not to stay
on earth I can't breath
oh but love is a white watered stream!
and I once swam the fresh water as I pleased
yes love keeps you safe and love keeps you sound
but drift too long in white rapids and eventually you will
