VICIOUS CYCLE
X
The following night, Critical was seen with Starr appearing more in love than before as they walked down a London residential area. The scene was reasonably quiet, with streetlights being omnipresent
“Thank you for that” Starr smiled “I really don’t get on with my cousin, so thank you for passing the £50 to her. My mum said I should but I can’t stand my cousin, dumb bitch. She thinks she’s God’s gift to the world, but she’s claiming government benefits for her twins; yet she has the nerve to be so fucking rude, I hate her”
“Wow…She seemed ok to me” Critical declared
“It’s all an act, don’t fall for that trick. That’s what I love about you, I can trust you” Starr smiled “It’s so hard to trust people these days. People are so on the lookout for themselves – it’s the way of the jungle, I suppose”
“Trust, it’s dog-eat-dog, eat or be eaten, simple as” Critical declared “There are some good people in the world, I guess. Me and you”
“Thank you, it’s true, still. Oh, you know how I had my interview, my university interview” Starr began
“Yeah…I know you smashed it, anyway” Critical stated in a confident manner “What uni wouldn’t accept you?”
“Apparently this one” Starr stated in a defeated tone “They didn’t even tell me the reason. I had four other rejections, and this one was my saving grace. But it backfired…”
“I don’t understand…What went wrong?” Critical asked
“Funnily enough, nothing” Starr replied “Absolutely nothing…I fact, I smashed the English and Mathematics exam, and I thought I did well on the interview. I keep replaying me sitting there in the interview, in my head, I’m thinking ‘Should I have said that’ or ‘should I not had said that’ all this bullshit roaming around my cranium because I got turned down on unspecified reasons”
“…’Cranium’…What…?” Critical smiled, but was visibly confused
“Sorry, rude boy, I meant ‘Head’ I was speaking like a big woman, still” Starr grinned “You know I have them moments”
“It’s cool, that’s what gets me crazy about you” Critical teased “Love it when you speak like a big woman”
“Stop it” Starr laughed “Anyway, how’s your design work going?”
“I’ve been doing bits and bobs, a bit here and there” Critical began “I’m designing my own buildings. Hopefully in the future, they will be real…It’s all a dream at the moment. Things haven’t been happening in Dons Galore as much as before…Which is strange. The last thing we did was steal some motorbikes from a garage”
“Are you sure you should be leaking your info to me?” Starr asked “I’m still a Wavy Chick”
“But I trust you” Critical replied “I’m so deep into you that I feel like I can practically tell you anything. I can tell you’re the type of chick that can be discreet about shit”
“You read me like a book” Starr giggled “Am I that see-through?”
“Not even, but there is a connection between you and me…I feel, anyway” Critical declared
“I feel the same, and it feels good” Starr smiled
The couple then approached Critical’s apartment. Critical shoved his key in the key hole and twisted it. He and Starr entered.
Critical turned the lights on in the living room. Starr looked around as Critical left to go to the kitchen
“So this is where my man resides, init?” Starr grinned as she picked up a photograph from the coffee table. It was a family portrait of Critical and General when they were 12 and 16 respectively; with their mother and father
