Car ride's

I stare blankly at my phone as I wait for my older brother Kory to get in the car and drive me to the airport. When the door opens I'm suprised to see my dad instead of Kory.

"Where's kor?"

"Aah I see how it is, you don't want to be seen with your old man anymore right?" He asks with a smirk plastered on his face.

-giggles- "well you have gotten a bit embarasing dad.

"I could say the same for you."

-laughs uncontrollably-

"Nah but forreal I just want to spend some time with you. Its not great that your leaving the exact same time I came back."

"I know daddy, but you know I need to do this. It's not even about the fame I know everyone says that but singing is the only thing that's gotten me through all of this. With you being gone, grandad dying, Jameson getting shot and having to go through therapy, and just our day to day struggles. I not only need to do this for me but for the family.

"I don't know how I feel about you thinking you have to provide for this family."

"Daddy I know I don't need to do anything but I want to."

"We're here kia."

"Really?" I didn't even realize, the time went by so quick. My dad could make hours seem like minutes.

My dad turned to me and grabbed my hands. " Kia I love you and I know your gonna get far in this industry. Your voice is one of the purest things I've ever heard. I believe in you just know that.

I feel tears stream down my face as I crack a small smile. "Thanks dad, I love you." I gently open the car door, step out, and wave as my dad drives off.
