Chapter 3

You were in a deep sleep when you had a dream:

You were 5 or 6 years old, looking across the table from a younger boy, "Jack! Seriously we need to act more mature about this!" You say crossing your arms. The blonde haired boy laughs. "I'm sorry y/n it's impossible!" He says breaking into more laughter. "Jack! We need to learn this telepathic stuff before they test us!" You say staring him right in the eyes. His laughter calms into a few short giggles, "Okay, let's try it again!" He says and puts his concentration face on. 'Hello?' You ask in your mind. 'Hi y/n!' He answers back. 'It worked! I knew we could do it Jack' you say. "Jack and y/n Johnson? Are you ready?" Says an older looking woman standing at the doorway. "Yes ma'am!" You both say in unison.

You suddenly wake up to the sound of screeching metal. "Matt.." You say pushing him a little. "Hm?" He asks in a dazed slumber. "We have to get Nash. And make it to the doors of the glade." You say. "Okay." He says and rolls out of the crevasse.

You find where you hung Nash and untied the vine to lower him down slowly. "We need to get the antidote and quick!" Matt says picking up Nash. You put Nash's arm around your shoulder and half carry half drag him to the door. "There they are!" You hear someone call back at the glade. Cameron comes running up with Aaron, Hayes and another boy. "Aaron, Hayes, Gilinsky get Nash to the infirmary and get the WRX in him now!" Cameron yells and the boy by the name of Gilinsky hoist Nash over his shoulder and carries him to the infirmary. Aaron and Hayes run shortly behind him. "Is he going to be okay?" You ask Cameron. "I don't know, he spent a night in that maze I don't know how far he is along in the Changing." He says and walks away. "Matt, I need to ask you something." You say as you walk beside him. "Sure, what's up?" He says. "Um, this might be a weird question, but I think you know the answer." You say. "Shoot." He says. "Does someone named Jack Johnson live in the glade?" You ask. "How do you know?" He answers. "I had a dream last night, I was a little scared to tell you this morning. And besides there was no time." You say. "I will take you to him." He answers and grabs your hand leading you to the infirmary.

As you walk into the infirmary you see him right away. "Jack?" You ask as you walk up to him. His blonde hair is unmistakable. "Y/n!" He says running and embracing you. "You remember me?" You ask in surprise. "I had a dream about you last night." He says. You wonder what the dream was about but you don't ask him. "I can't believe that you are actually here!" You say embracing him once more. "Johnson!" Aaron comes racing down the stairs. "What is it?" Jack asks. "It's Nash..." Aaron continues. "I'm coming." Jack says. "What is going on?" You ask Aaron. But it was too late Aaron was already upstairs. Matt looks at you with a concerned look upon his face."We have to find out what's going on up there!" You say. "We can't..." He says. "Why--" Just as you say that Aaron comes down the stairs. "Y/n?" Aaron says. "Yeah?" You reply. "Nash wants you. And only you." He continues. "Okay." You say. Aaron leads you up the stairs. "Nash!" You say running up to the side of his bed. He looked horrid purple veins running through his chest, bloodshot eyes and dilated pupils. "Nash, I'm so sorry." You say. "Y/n, Thank you. I was going to die out there. You saved my life." He says. "How did you know you were knocked out." You ask. "I could hear everything." Just as he says that his eyes close. "Cameron it's happening again!" Aaron yells. "Get y/n out of here. He is going to do it again!" Cameron yells as he runs in. "Gilinsky hold down his legs! Aaron get y/n out of here now!" Cameron yells holding down Nash's arms. Aaron puts his arm around you and leads you down the stairs. You get to the bottom of the stairs and run back up. "Y/n, stay down here!" Aaron yells following you up the stairs. You hear a scream come from the room Nash was in. "What are you doing to him!" You screamed. You run into the room and see Nash struggling against the strength of Gilinsky and Cameron. "Let go of him! Let go!" You yell trying to pull Cameron away from his arms. "Stop y/n! He's changing! The antidote hasn't worked yet!" Cameron yells. Gilinsky pushes you back, your back hitting the ground hard. "Ow!" You scream. "Y/n! Are you okay?" Johnson asks kneeling down beside you. "Johnson get her out of here!" Gilinsky says trying to hold down Nash. "Okay." Johnson says. "Let's go y/n." He says picking you up off the ground and leading you downstairs. "Y/n are you okay?" Matt says giving you a hug. "Yeah, I'm okay Matthew." You answer. "Let's go get you some breakfast take your mind off all of this, meet the rest of the guys." Matt says grabbing your hand and leading you out of the infirmary and taking you to the common area.
