Prologue

BREAKING NEWS!

Flashed across the screen.

"Today the mutilated remains of Virginia West were found in the Arrow River. Police have told us they are investigating this case as thoroughly as possible, considering the lack of evidence. Virginia had been missing for over half a year, before 8 this morning when her body was found. A funeral is being held in 4 days and the public Is invited to come

-2 days earlier-

Virginia's POV:
He's not fond of me anymore, he's finally going to do it. Weeping as silently as possible so I won't disturb him, I stare out into the dark. Maybe I still have a few hours to live I think hopefully, just as I hear his footsteps thudding of him slowly walking down the stairs.

I try to stop crying, but I can't wipe my tears away as my hands are in chains above me. "How could you? After all I've done for you this is how you repay me?" He says calmly. I weep harder "I'm so sorry, I promise it will never happen again sir!" He stomps his foot "QUIET!" I recoil against the wall and shiver slightly.

He walks in front of me and kneels as he softly grabs my chin "I wish I could say I'm sorry that I have to do this. But frankly, I'm not. You are very ungrateful V and I feel as if I could do better. Now if your quiet I can make this go by quickly."

Looking into my eyes he smiles. "Can you do that last thing for me babygirl?" I nod trying not to cry. "Is there anything else you would like to say before you leave?" I think quietly and nod, he smiles "well what is it sweety?" "I love you. May we pray before I go?"

He falls onto the floor laughing. "Honey I've told you multiple times before, your God does not exist, why would he let this happen to you?" He stood up and grabbed a butcher knife from the shelf in the corner walking back to me. "I was just going to shoot you, but obviously you still believe in something I told you not to believe. So this will be painful."

He leans down to kiss my cheek as I begin to cry again and, for the first time in almost 5 months, struggle against him "NO PLEASE ALEXANDER PLEASE GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE I PROM-" He cuts my sentence short when he cuts my tongue off and tapes my mouth shut. My vision goes blurry and after what seems like forever everything goes black.

Ok so this is my second book I have published on here, and It took me two days to type this because I want it to be good. I know it's short and maybe not as good as it could be, but I'm trying, and any criticism would be greatly appreciated so yea!
