The silence was an uncomfortable one. I only heard the echo of our footsteps as they led me to where they had held Tanner earlier. I studied the two boys, Cameron in particular. Cameron had gorgeous curly hair, blue eyes, and dimples. He had a hard look on his face like he had to concentrate on walking. His muscles stood out very prominently. I zoned in on what he could do. Obviously, he was very important to Miles and that meant, no doubt, that he had a power. A telepath I figured. He was very powerful. He could get into your mind like cracking open a walnut.
"You can stop picking through my thoughts and just ask" he told me, his mouth set in a grim line.
"Are you going to put me in that cell?" I asked.
"Virtually indestructible and inescapable" a boy to my left boasted. His name was...Michel.
I laughed out loud, not meaning to. I heard Cameron's soft chuckle as well, barely audible.
"What?" Michel asked.
"I could leave just as easily as I could kill you right now" I threatened with a sarcastic grin. Michele's heartbeat picked up ever so slightly.
"So why can you do anyways?" Michel hesitantly asked.
I struggled to answer that question that I myself asked daily.
"Anything" Cameron cut in.
"I can do many things but...anything?" My mind couldn't wrap around it.
"You underestimate yourself" Cameron finally looked at me. I stayed silent after that.
We turned the final corner and arrived at the cell. It felt like a prison but what was my crime?
They went to start unlocking the intercut security system but I held up a hand.
"I got this" I murmured and went through the wall like I would a door. It was like it wasn't there anymore. I looked back at them. Michel looked semi shocked so I guessed he was new to the army and possibly the school but Cameron's face was blank. He'd seen this before by Camilla, the girl that had walked through this very glass to get Tanner's blind fold.
The inside of the chamber was all white including the bed, sheets, walls, floors, night table, and the lamp sitting on the nightstand. It wasn't just a plain white but more of a glowing white that created an bright haze.
Cameron and Michel left the hall and then it was just me. I ignored the scratchy looking bed and sat in the further most corner of the room. I wrapped my arms around my pulled up knees and took a deep breath. Keep calm. Don't panic.
*The next day*
I hadn't moved from the position I started in. A few people came in to stare at me like I was some kind of zoo exhibit. An animal. I just stared forward until they left. The thing that really bothered me was Jake hadn't visited. I wanted to make sure he was okay. I kept telling myself that thy weren't letting him or he just couldn't bare to see me like this but honestly I just didn't know. Strange that a person with all this power has so little control.
I could hear the echo of two pairs of feet coming down the hall. Great, more spectators. They came up to the glass and I quickly glanced at them. It was Cameron and Michel.
"Come on" I heard echo through my thoughts and I shuttered "Miles wants to see you". I got up stiffly, my joints popping and cracking uncomfortably. I walked through the glass and was now beside them. They started walking and I followed them down the familiar hall to where Miles stayed. This place was just as intimidating as the first time.
Miles, of course, sat in his grand chair watching me enter. We stopped a few feet away from him.
Cocking his head to the side, he said "smile a little. Your so gloomy".
