the black in space must
contain light for it to shine
on the earth,
so full
though it seems like absolute
void and darkness.
in stillness
in absence
clarity generating light
and energy,
reflecting it.
cold giving birth to heat.
void to form.
all sound seeping into it
and from it,
the darkness so dense
with light it cannot
shine.
there's a storm on jupiter
that's three times the size
of the earth
that's been raging
for hundreds of years.
the earth is big for us
but jupiter is much bigger,
the sun is bigger than jupiter
but smaller than lots of other
things.
the earth is big and small
like an ant compared to an atom
or to you,
you are made of atoms like
the stars in the night
sky
so big and so small
so far away,
yet here.
how small are those bio photons
you emit travelling on wards
through out time and space?
you came from a star
and you shine
like a star,
not much light but brighter than
the dark.
"organisms are not just tinkered
together contraptions but expressions
of deeper natural laws".....
but what in the name of
philip k's dick
are the laws themselves
made of?!
we revel in our insignificance
and we marvel at our
significance.
so big
and so small,
just like everything.
