Rose's POV
I pulled out my math book from my locker, it was my first period. I rolled my eyes, I hated math. Whoever decided to give it to me as my first period was very stupid. No one wants to have math this early in the morning.
I sighed in frustration and slammed my locker closed.
"Hey, calm down!" I jumped at the unexpected voice and turn to the source of the voice to see my friend, Opal.
"You scared the daylights out of me Opal!" I exclaimed and she smirked.
"I did, didn't I?" she was talking rather smug and I scowled at her.
"Very funny," I rolled my eyes for the second time this morning and began to walk with Opal to her locker.
"I really didn't mean to, but you slammed your locker so hard that I'm pretty sure the people in Africa heard you," she said teasingly, while I shook my head at her.
"You're so exaggerated. The only ones who heard my locker slam was us," I corrected her, attempting to hold back the urge to roll my eyes again.
"You sure about that?" Opal raised a questionable eyebrow at me.
I sighed, "I'm positive."
"Okay, whatever you say," she replied as we reached her locker, "oh, and by the way, did you sign up for the play this year?"
I leaned against the locker next to hers, "is it Romeo and Juliet again? Because if it is, I'm not signing up."
Since we moved up to the high school in ninth grade, Romeo and Juliet has always been the school play.
She pouted, proving that it was right, "but Rose, I think you'd make the perfect Juliet!"
This time, I rolled my eyes unconsciously, "no, that's you. I'd definitely go if you're Juliet."
She sighed, "I wish you would sign up though."
"Yeah, but I'm not the one who's had years of theater and acting lessons," I reasoned with her.
"I'll think about it," she slammed her locker shut.
Justin's POV
I quickly scanned the study guide the teacher had given us and wrote more notes down. I knew all the information on the study guide, but I had to make sure everything was embedded into my memory.
I couldn't forget a thing.
My head snapped up as I heard a loud ruckus and saw one of the students in my English class stumble to his desk and shook my head at him. The player of the school, Mason, sat in the seat behind me and took out his notes.
Whenever we had a test, he would come to class early to study, even when the teacher had given us the study guide a week prior. No matter, by the time the test rolled around, he would always sneak peeks at my test and the teacher would never notice.
I know he copies me, even when he thinks he's being slick. I rolled my eyes behind my glasses and shook my head again. This happens over and over again and I wasn't really surprised it's happening again. I went back to skimming the study guide, when someone else walked into the classroom.
When I looked up again I froze. Theresa, one of the most popular girls of the school was walking to her desk. I know I shouldn't have an interest in her, but she was so beautiful, no matter how selfish she might seem. I can't see passed her beauty.
Unknown POV
I laughed as I watched Justin lusting after Theresa. Stupid boy, she'll never like you.
"Hey, pay attention over here!" my buddy snarled and I sighed at him.
"Calm down!" I told him and he looked at me with a frown.
"We need to go over the plan one more time," he growled and I ran my hand down my face and turned to our small group.
"Okay," I began, "John, you're going to drive the van to the house," I pointed to John as I began going over the plan again, "Brad, you will be with me, and Mr. Know-it-all when the game starts, it will be a slaughter house," I smirked along with Brad. I couldn't wait for this to happen. My fingers were itching to grab my axe. The house already had a few traps we planted, but for the few that would escape those traps would be lucky enough to die in our hands.
"Remember, this will begin before third period. They all have the same period, so as they make their way to English class, we need to make sure that they don't make it there. Understand?" I looked around at Brad and John and their nods of understanding was all I needed.
"Now we wait."
~~~
Third period was rolling around and Brad and I were in the bathroom stalls getting the syringes ready.
The first to go down was Justin. He's a nerd so we know he'll get to the class first.
I got out of the stall as soon as I adjusted my backpack and waited for Brad.
As soon as he got out of the stall, I nodded my head at him, giving him the go signal and we quietly walked to our spots. It was two abandoned classrooms, right across from each other, that we knew the eleven students would walk by.
Soon the bell rang and the students were let out of their classes. They flooded the halls and we kept a careful eye out.
I scanned the hallway in front of me, knowing that Justin was close.
I waited a few seconds and soon enough, I saw him rounding the corner on my side of the hallway. He was with his group of nerds and they were all engrossed in the notes they were holding.
I reached into the pocket of my book bag and got the syringe ready.
As they passed by me, they were too preoccupied to notice when I shoved the needle in his arm and pulled him to the empty classroom.
One down, ten more to go.
