Victor's POV
My presence was unknown until I stepped on a twig. I watched them freeze in fear and that delighted me. My dear Opal looked around. Though I was in love with her, I needed to teach her not to run away from me. I've chased her long enough, the chase is over now.
I stepped closer to get a better look at her, my foot stepping on another twig. That was what got them to run. I smiled, shook my head, and gripping the baseball bat I held in my hand, I walked after them. They weren't running too fast and I knew that they'd tire out before they even made it to any form of civilization.
Soon enough, Kat got her pathetic heel stuck in a tree root and I fought to roll my eyes. Seriously? You'd think that any girl was smart enough to ditch their heels in a situation like this, but Kat was always known for being a stupid brat.
I heard Matt telling Opal to run and get help, which she did. She soon disappeared into the darkness of the forest and I was left alone with them.
"Can you get your foot out?" Matt whispered as he looked around frantically, searching for me, but I was hidden behind two large trees.
"I'm.. trying," Kat tugged her foot, but it was stuck in place. I smirked.
This is too easy.
Stepping out from the trees I walked up behind Matt and lifted my bat high, swinging it down onto his head and effectively knocking him out. Kat screamed and her movements became more frantic.
I shook my head, "you won't be able to escape. Your attempts are futile," a smile stretched across my lips as she continued to try to break her leg free. I sighed as I looked down at her.
"How long will you be trying?" Kat didn't answer. "Are you scared of me?"
She paused and lifted her eyes to mine, her eyes were emotionless and her face blank. We stared at each other for a few moments before I decided that I was tired of her pettiness and childish actions.
I shrugged, "good night."
