This was not what Evan was expecting when he arrived at his office. He thought for sure that she would be on the phone to the police trying to get them to come rescue her but instead, what he found made him fill with guilt. She was sat curled up on his large chair, knees pulled into her chest as she sobbed into her denim covered legs. Evan could never stand watching a woman cry.
Evan silently made his way to her side kneeling in front of her."I want to go home." she whispered brokenly not looking up at him.
"I know but right now it's not safe for you and I'm sorry your in this mess." he explained, hoping that she would understand.
"Why did you take me? Why couldn't you have just left me alone?" she sobbed.
"I know I messed up but I promise we will protect you."
She sighed softly lifting her head to look at him. Evan cringed at her swollen cheek he didn't expect it to be so bad. "Does it hurt?"
Casey nodded her head softly. Evan sighed gentally taking her small cold hands in his much larger ones and pulled her up from the chair.
"let's get some ice on that cheek of yours, well get David to check on your ribs too."
Casey didn't know why this man was being so kind to her but she was thankful she didn't think she would cope if he was like that Frank guy. But he wasn't this Evan guy was genital towards her maybe he was just feeling guilty.
David had her lie down on a sofa and pulled her top up so it just showed her ribs yet still covered her chest witch she was thankful for. It was when he started prodding at her that she decided she didn't like the man. Everytime he poked at her a wave of pain passed over her and she was ready to punch him. Evan seeing this chucked before promptly pulling David away from her before she could swing. "So doc what's the verdict will she live." Evan joked, then burst out laughing when he saw the frustrated look cross her face.
"Nothing serious just a few bruised ribs. I'll wrap them up and she'll need to rest for a few days, after that she will be fine." David muttered heading to grab what he needed from the storage cupboard where they kept the medical supplies that they offer stole from the local hospitals.
Casey turned to Evan slowly.
"How did you even get to meet a man like Frank? " she asked looking at Evan as the smile he wore slowly slipped from his face.
