Last time
Sebastian fought a mysterious woman in an alley. He was distracted by her pants and forced to retreat.
Present Claire POV
As Mey-Rin helps me into my dress, a lone, silent tear trickles down my cheek. She asks if I'm alright, and I half-heartedly assure that I'm fine. Mey-Rin knows I'm lying, but she doesn't argue. She understands that I simply miss Ciel.
He left for his mission the day after Sebastian lost his fight. That was two weeks ago. I'm sick with worry, and my only clue as to his location is "the circus."
I want to be alone so I can sulk, but the servants won't let me.
The first day, I helped Bardroy prepare the meals for the day. Believe it or not, he's actually an amazing cook, when he slows down that is. The second day Mey-Rin and I do the mending. She also teaches me how to properly hold and shoot a hand gun. The next day Finny enlisted me to weed patrol. We have been on this rotation for two weeks.
Yesterday, however, I worked on all the paperwork Ciel left for me to do. It took all day. And I still had some left over. Today after I finish it, I am going to read.
~ Le Time Skip ~ until after Claire finishes her paperwork
Ciel bought me a new book the other day. It is titled, Sherlock Holmes and the Hounds of Baskerville. Elizabeth mentioned it in her letter. She said she hated, so I've decided to "give it a go" as they say.
I'm nestled in Ciel's desk chair when the servants come crashing in. They are bawling their eyes out. They keep crying, and shouting different things at the same time. Instead of delivering their message, they are making me angry.
When I've decided that I have had enough, I slam my book down on the desk and ask with a snarky tone, "What is it now?"
I wait until Mey-Rin works up the nerve to answer.
"Young mistress, it is the young master."
"What?! What happened?!"
"Mi'lady, master Ciel is in the hospital." replies Finny.
Bard decides it's his turn to speak, "Yeah, Sebastian just called and told us. The doctors are sayin' it looks like an asthmatic attack, and that we oughtta prepare for the worst."
