Sebastian, Ciel, Kalien, and I are all sitting in the carriage...in utter silence.
"Are you feeling any better Ciel?" I just want him to talk to me. I have been so lonely without him the past two weeks.
"Yes, I am fine." He states almost angrily.
He has been staring at Kalien for the entirety of the ride. It is making me feel quite uncomfortable.
"Ciel, why are you staring at Kalien? It is rather awkward."
"Pardon my frankness, (yes it is a real word I looked it up) but there is something off here. Claire you aren't telling me something about Kalien. It is written all over your face. Spill."
"Ciel we will talk when we get home. In private."
"Fine!" Ciel half shouts.
We sit in silence for the rest of the ride home.
—— time skip ——
Ciel and I are in his study, drinking his favorite tea, Earl Grey. He sets his teacup back on the saucer. I follow suit.
"Claire, you do know that you can tell me anything, right?"
"Well, I guess I'm just worried that you will be angry with me."
"I promise not to get angry."
"You should call for Sebastian. I'll call up Kalien. They both need to be here for this."
In a flash the butlers are with us.
"Young Master I cannot believe that you have yet to figure this out." Sebastian has the biggest smirk in history as he says this.
"Well you see Mi'lord," Kalien starts, his eyes are glowing neon green, "I am simply one hell of a butler."
"Kalien! That is my thing!" Sebastian says angrily as tears start to form in his eyes.
"Claire Maria Williams!" Ciel starts shouting, "Why on Earth do you have a demon butler?! What the bloody hell were you thinking?!"
"I was afraid of losing you too you bloody idiot! Kalien is the only one who could insure your life and that we can live happily together!"
- Ciel POV -
Claire storms out of the room, screaming and crying.
'God, I am an idiot.'
"Mi'lord," Kalien starts. I nod, giving him permission to continue. "My lady is telling the truth. Our contract was formed on the ride to the hospital. Her fear, despair, and anguish over the thought of losing you were enough to summon me."
"Kalien, what are the specifics of your contract?"
"Her goal is to have a long, happy life with you. I am not to eat her soul until Seb eats yours. If something happens to your soul, our deal is broken. I will not be able to eat her soul, and she will lose you forever."
"Wait a second, did you call Sebastian, 'Seb'?"
"Well yes," Kalien walks over, puts his arm around Sebastian's shoulder, and says, "can't you tell he's my older brother?"
"What?" I scoff. God, of all the idiots to make a contract with this is who Claire got stuck with. Poor thing.
