Naga Sonadow

Part 6

  Tikal and Sonic talked to each other for hours, Sonic actually forgot that she was a giant monster that could devour him at any moment, he felt safe with her, certainly more safe then he felt with Shadow, or Amy.

"Tikal, are all the nagas here as nice as you are?"

"Sonic, sweetheart, this tribe is one of the MOST mobbian friendly out of all four of the tribes, all thanks to Shadow, he refused to allow us to eat your kind, personally I like this rule, if we all went around eating you then we would loose the opportunity to see what wonderful people you are."

"What made Shadow make that rule?"

Tikal sighed and leaned back against the wall, smoothing out a pillow.

"Well, several years ago Shadow met a human...a young girl by the name of Maria, she was the most beautiful sight you've ever seen, he was going to just eat her like we all would have, but for some reason he didn't he kept her here and she taught him so much about the world outside of this place."

"The place where people like me and humans come from?"

"Yes, he was so fascinated, eventually he banned us from eating humans and mobbians, we learned so much from Maria, she was just so wonderful, it was like she was sent here to teach us that there are better things."

"What happened to her?"

Tikal frowned, her eyes looking dreadfully sad.

"She was sick...and wasn't able to make it through the winter."

Sonic frown, he regretted asking, seeing as he just made his new friend upset.

"I'm sorry."

"It's quite alright, it was a long time ago, just don't mention her to Shadow, okay? He loved her so much."

Sonic blinked slightly, the fact that a beast such as Shadow could love something like a human astounded him, he didn't know what to think. He started to wonder about the other tribes she had mentioned.

"What about the others, what are they like?"

"Well, which would you like to learn about first?"

"um...how about...Knuckles?"

Tikal smiled, eager to teach him all she could, but that would have to wait, Shadow would be home any moment and knew he wouldn't be happy with Sonic learning about the other tribes.

"I'll teach you about him first thing tomorrow, right now, lets go get you washed up."

Sonic's ears pinned against his head, fearfully.

"I don't like water."

Tikal giggled and nodded, gently picking him up.

"Don't worry, it won't take long, I promise."

Sonic frowned as she slithered out of the room, carrying him like a baby, the hallways were more like tunnels, now he definitely knew they were underground, she slithered into a room with a deep hole in the middle, filled with water. Fear painted it's self onto his face, Tikal noticed and smiled.

"Don't worry, you'll be just fine."
