In a dark jungle several miles from here an exhausted, blue hedgehog lays under a tree shrouded in greenery. He lay there helplessly as his twisted ankle swells more and more, the pain of the pulsing force of his blood drilling through his veins making him whimper. His cries drawing the attention of a beautiful, majestic beast, it's large scaly body slithering silently closer and closer to the poor injured being, and examining him from a distance, the creature saw an easy meal, yet
for some reason the monster continued to stare at the young boy, his fare skin glowing in the dimly lit jungle, his blue fur commanding the primitive beings attention.
The young hedgehog let out a tiny moan, luring the creature closer and closer until it lay beside him carefully pressing it's cold wet nose against the boy's pale, soft arm. The boy jumped fearfully the tears in his eyes finally swelled large enough to fall.

"P-Please! D-Don't eat me!"

The frail and frightened male fell back making him yelp as his ankle hit a root, with a chilling hiss the beast opened his mouth wide his pearly white fangs glistening in the fading light, and with a mighty rawer he bellowed;

"What are you doing in MY jungle?!"

The force behind the powerful voice echoed in the blue boy's head, his ears ringing, his heart pounding, his body shivering. A heaviness fell into the boy's eyes as his head spun around before he saw only black. The beautiful creature stared at the boy, curiosity filled his head as he ever-so-carefully wrapped the frail body in his coils, lifting it up to his arms and slithering away into the darkness.

-----------------------------------

Breaking open his eyes against the blinding morning light, the young boy found himself in a strange room on a large, soft, sturdy bed, fitted in a oversized, black shirt and a splint wrapped tightly around his leg, he looked around finding nothing but a large bookcase and an odd shape hidden within the shadows of the far corner of the room.

"So...You're finally awake are you?"

A shiver ran up the boy's spine as he looked around the room frantically, desperately trying to find the source of the voice, a powerful voice much like...no...EXACTLY like the one that had rang through his ears not too long ago. In the corner the odd, dark shape appeared to grow into the body of a hedgehog with upturned quills, yet, the torso seemed to belong to that of a snake. As this strange being came into the light the boy could see black fur and quills with red streaks on the quills arms and down the tail, at the sight of the beautiful, handsome creature, fear overwhelmed the blue boy causing him to sink back into the bed shivering so violently it would've shook the bed.

"P-P-Please, d-d-don't e-eat me!"

"If I wanted to eat you I would have done it after you fainted."

This information seemed to calm the hedgehog slightly, seeing this the creature took the opportunity to come closer, only to receive more fear.

"Calm yourself, little one, I won't harm you."

"P-P-Promise?"

"Yes."

The young, blue hedgehog sighed, relieved greatly before realizing the creature was staring at him intently, making him a little worried though he refused to show it.

"What is your name, little one?"

"S-Sonic, Sonic the H-Hedgehog, w-will you tell me y-your name?"

"Shadow."
