*London Scott

"And and and we play on the slide when you get back London?" My step daughter asked me as I got her dressed.

"Yes we can play on the slide." I laughed looking for her little rain boots

"And and Morgan play? Morgan wanna play too?" She turned to my daughter Morgan. Morgan stopped what she was doing and looked up at her big sister

"Yup." Morgan answered simply.

I laughed at my two girls as I searched around my unpacked California house for their clothes. I just moved back to L.A from New York, an art gallery buying presented it's self so I took that offer up. I haven't been in L.A in 2 years, I'm kinda glad I'm back. My fiance and I bought a 5 bedroom house for our 2 girls and maybe more kid to come.

"London?" Payton called out

"Yes baby." I looked up from the box labeled shirts to see her distressed face

"Can we get our nails done too?" She asked.

I laughed a good laugh before answering with a yes. Her birthday is tomorrow and I was going to spend a girls day with my little princess promising her anything she wanted, but gosh I never seen a 4 year old stress so much over birthday plans ever in my life. Payton is an joy to have, she's the sweetest. Sometimes I wished she came from me so she would never feel out of place. I treat her as if she was mine, just like Morgan.

I finally found the black shirt she requested to wear for today's events. I then went to go get Morgan fished dressed.

"Ma!" Morgan looked up at me

"Yes boo." I smiled at her scooping her up

"Eat!" She pointed to her mouth

"Okay." I laughed. Morgan's 18 months and one of the best things I've ever did in my life. I look at her and feel like that I was made for giving birth to her. Despite her being something that was placed in my life at a young age, she is the best thing that probably came out of THAT relationship. Period.

I sat her in her high chair picking Payton up putting her at the kitchen table I searched for something light for them to snack on. Once deciding on a fruit mix I let them at it. I got dressed my self in a pair of black shorts and a light blue wavey tank-top with matching toms leaving my hair straight. After cleaning up the girls mess and settling them in the car we made our way to West Hollywood nail salon.

"I think I'm gonna get princess pink, what are you gonna get London?" She asked as she grabbed a hold of my hand as we walked across the parking lot

"Uh maybe purple." I gave it some thought

"Me want ywellow" Morgan looked down at her sister

"Me too." Payton agreed

"You pink for your nails and yellow for your toes.?" I asked already knowing my daughter

"Yes." She nodded her head while I opened the door to the salon

A lot of people lined against the wall. Some little girls held gifts while some stood with their moms.

"A party!" Payton tugged on my hand

"It looks so baby." I told her walking up to the counter.

"Uh yes ma'am sorry we can't take any more customers" the young girl working the desk informed me.

"Well that must apply to the others because I already have an appointment." I told her hitching Morgan further up onto my hip holding Payton's hand tighter

"What's your last name?" The girl asked

"Scott." I replied

"Okay let me look." She said

Yeah you do that! Please don't make me turn up in this salon in front of my kids. I promised Payton her nails done and they will be done. Birthday party going on or not!

"Oh ah here you are. I'm sorry." She smiled big at me

"It's fine." I took a deep breath

"Well let's get you seated." She stepped from behind the counter. The bell above the door rung singling someone walked in. I looked to see who it was and wished I didn't. Tea.

I haven't seen her since my 12th grade year of high school when she took my long term boyfriend.

"Ma'am?" The girl said snapping me out my ocean of thoughts

"We have 3 open chairs now." She said

I nodded waving her off, the vibe in the room seems off.

I sat Morgan down in one pink princess chair and helped Payton get into the other.

Tea and a little girl walked into the children side of the salon too with many other people trailing behind them. The little girl looked no older than Payton...and oddly enough she looked like Chris.....

My Chris....

The Chris she took out of spite....
