Kenny heard a beeping sound. He picked up his phone and called Annabel. He waited a moment and then after it rang once she answered.

"Good morning Annabel! How you doing? I am coming over now to pick you up, ok?" Kenny asked. All of a sudden he was the happiest person in the world. He waited anxiously for Annabel to answer. And she did.

"Ok Kenny. Remember the keys under the ugly duckling. Just come on in. I may be in my room so walk up the stairs take a-."

"Take a right, the left and walk straight ahead! And then I will be at your door!" Kenny finished her sentence a bit to cheerfully. He got nervous thinking he creeped her out. After about seven seconds Annabel started to laugh, and she laughed hard.

"I forget you've been here a thousand times. You are the cutest man. I'm happy you're my friend. Honestly, I mean it. I don't know how I could have made it after-." And just like that the moment was gone. It was just misery now. The line went dead silent. Kenny tried to break the silence.

"Hey don't worry about it kid. I've got your back. See you soon. Love you Annabel." Kenny said. He immediately regret saying the last line.

"See you soon. Love you too bro." She whispered into the phone.

Even though he couldn't see it he knew she was smiling. He loved her smile and how it made him feel all warm inside. Without her he thought he would never make it.

*Half An Hour Later.*

Kenny arrived at the French Quarter. He pulled up to an old building, it looked as if it were over four hundred years old. He looked at it a bit puzzled even now. He's been here so many times and he still wondered how he had never noticed it before.

He shook his head and ignored it, he just assumed after all this time he was finally going "cray-cray" as Annabel would say. That made his corner lip lift into a joyful half smile. He walked into the building like it was his own place. He called Annabel's name and he heard someone rushing down to him. He turned.

"Oh no, not again!" Kenny yelled and he started running but he was no match for what had hit him. He fell to the ground with a thud and he turned his body to face the creature. He looked into the eyes of the beast who had conquered him.

"Jessie you bad, bad boy. You need to stop tackling me like this. What would Annabel say when she discovers that I died because a dog pounced on me." He said to the dog like it would actually respond.

"Now I know I'm going crazy." He laughed.

*Upstairs In Another Room.*

Annabel waited patiently for Kenny to finally arrive, and so she picked up a book and began to read, she was reading a horror, romance, mystery, thriller, mythology, fantasy book. She always choose the most complicated books imaginable to read and loved them.

This one was called 'Believe And Love' by an unarmed author, but he or she was the best writer in this known universe, also known as New Orleans. She read nonstop for days at a time and she once read for an entire week with no sleep in a bathroom with a mini fridge. That's what people called loyal.

She heard a boy yell and assumed it was the mail guy being tackled by Jessie, her dog, yet again. The mail guy's name was also Jessie which made it a bit cuter and so whenever he was trapped he would say "Ok Jessie Jr. I give up. Please take me to your Jessie King."

Jessie was the only one who ever came to deliver mail and make conversation with her. The others were too frightened. They believe that she was a creature of hell, a vampire or even a demon. Some even believe she was a creature of the night, a werewolf. This was because she never came out during the day, only night time.
