After Kenny and Annabel's interruption things were kind of awkward. Maybe if he had kissed her and Emmett didn't come barging in things would be less awkward. Kenny had no way of knowing but it didn't matter now, 'what's done is done' he thought.

Annabel was gravely disappointed at Emmett's little show and she knew him to well. She knew he did it on purpose because he did it every time.

About a year ago before the accident when they were normal, were your every day kid, a boy named Tyler asked her out and she said yes.

*One Year Ago.*

Tyler and Annabel were hand in hand walking down the street after their movie finished, he was taking her home. They had been dating for about two weeks. As they walked Tyler received a text and he checked his phone. He began to panic.

"Tyler are you ok? You don't look too well." Annabel questioned worriedly.

She looked at him with a face that looked frightened. He tried to smile it away but she could tell he was hiding something. So they continued to walk but now hands in pockets.

"Annabel I'm sorry. I've got a lot on my mine right now. With the football, baseball, basketball, and school. I just can't keep up." He said.

He covered his face with his hands. She grabbed them and removed them from his face. She looked at him in the eyes, they were a nice grassy color. She smiled at him.

"Don't worry sweetie, whatever it is we can work it out. Hey, don't forget your girlfriend is a nerd and a nird. I'm a hybrid." She joked with a gorgeous smile on her face.

Tyler then did the unexpected, he grabbed both sides of her waist with his hands and they were firm and strong. He pulled her up tightly, he laid his head against her's and his warm breath hit her face. She sighed and her body shock for a moment from the sudden heat.

He smiled at her and looked into her colorful eyes. Whenever he looked at them they were always a different pattern, a different color. He was mesmerized by her because she was the one girl who was nearly impossible to get. Every man wanted her and every girl envied her but she hung around with just two people, both were guys. One was the jockey popular kid and the other was the bad boy.

She was a mystery to the world and he wanted to unlock her secrets. He leaned inwards and whispered into her ear.

"Happy fourteenth birthday Annabel." Then he pulled her and kissed her. He cupped his hand around her neck and kissed her harder.

Annabel was shocked by what was going on and her eyes widened. First he was nervous then he had the courage to kiss her. She was confused more than ever.

He lifted her into the air and they ended up in the alleyway. He kissed her hungrily and he stopped momentarily. He smiled like a crazy man and Annabel was scared. He never had smiled like that at her before.

Annabel pushed him away. She couldn't breath and she was afraid this was not just a kiss. She was afraid he wanted more than that.

"Hold it there cowboy. I think we should call it a night. It's like nine thirty already and I'm tired." She said trying to soften the blow with a smile. But he just rolled his eyes.
