Drain Me

Chapter 3

              I woke up to Dolce making a meal out of my face. Giggling I gave him a pat on the head.

     "Silly dog, faces are for people," I couldn't help but roll over laughing at my own joke. I jumped out of bed, and walked over to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. When I was finished Dolce and I walked across the hall to Samael's room. I opened the door to see him getting dressed but still completely nude.

     "Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" I said. Stumbling over my words with every bit of shock noticeable in my voice and on my face. Once I quickly closed the door I could've sworn I heard him laughing on the other side. Great, I thought, now I won't be able to look at him without my cheeks getting all red and blushy. I walked down the stairs in hopes that I'll eventually find the kitchen. I passed a few other rooms and walked down another very long hallway when I finally came upon it. I sniffed the air and was filled with the sweet scent of blueberry pancakes, eggs, and bacon... and some more stuff that I couldn't exactly put my finger on.

     I sat down on one of the stools around the island, grabbed a plate and added any type of food that my fork came in contact with. Once I was about half way finished with my breakfast I could feel a pair of eyes on me. Turning around I wished that I hadn't because there stood Samael with a huge grin on his face.

      "So did you like your little peep show?" he sarcastically asked me. I blushed. I knew this would happen!

    "It was longer than I thought it would be," the words slipped away before I could hold them in. I lifted my head to see him standing across the table from me smiling.

     "Yeah, that's what she said," he laughed.

     "N-no I didn't mean it that way!" I stuttered, but of course it was to late.

      "Yeah, sure you didn't," he disbelievingly stated. He'll never let this down, I bet my life on that one. "Did you want anything?" he asked, sounding a tad bit more serious this time.

      "I wanted to know where the kitchen was," I replied without looking at him.

      "Oh... well... you're in it," he laughed. A small smile made it's way onto my face and without me noticing it I began laughing myself.

     "Haha," I rolled my eyes. He grabbed a plate and started adding food to it before sitting down. We started to eat in silence for a while.

      "Hey perv!" Lean exclaimed from behind me. I shot a glance at Samael.

     "You told him!?" I yelled across the table. He nearly died from laughter.

    "I couldn't help it, it was way to funny to keep a secret," he continued while still busting his gut.

    "And funny as hell it was," Lean chimed in.

    "Hey there Ms. Peeper," I heard Selene say from behind me.

    "What the hell Samael!?" I yelled at him again "Tell the whole world why don't you".

    "Hey thats not a bad idea," Lean commented.

    "Yeah we could probably get it broadcasted worldwide." Samael agreed sounding all to serious.

     "I can see the headlines now 'Small town girl gets a good look at her boyfriends package "by mistake." Selene piped in while using air quotes around 'by mistake'.

     "It was by mis- …" I trailed off, did she just say boyfriend?

      "Yeah I did," she smirked. I bushed. Did everybody hear what I thought?

      "Yeah," Samael and Lean said in unison. It felt like my entire face was on fire. I heard Dolce bark from by the kitchen walk way.

     "Dolce is hungry, we should go out to get him something to eat." I stated hoping to change the subject.

       "Oh that’s right, they do need food." Selene surprisingly said.

      "Haven't you ever had a pet?" I asked.

     "No I haven't." I got quiet after that.

     "So this is your new human Sam?" I heard a soft voice say. I turned around and saw a tall blonde standing by the kitchen entrance. He had a very gentle face but his piercing gray eyes bore into me like a hawk.

     "Hello," I quietly spoke, putting my head down a bit.

    "I must say she is quite beautiful." He continued, and of course my cheeks became red hot again and my heart began to accelerate. He laughed.

    "Back off," I heard Samael darkly warn him.

    "Sure I will," the boy with the piercing gray eyes sarcastically spoke. I already knew this wasn't heading towards a good outcome.

   "Selene, go take Corinne to a pet store." Samael demanded.

   "Lets go Corinne" I got up and followed her out the kitchen. She walked me to my room and told me to be ready in thirty minutes. I obeyed and took a quick shower, threw on a pair of shorts, and a white boyfriend shirt. As well as some black gladiator sandals. AS for my hair, I just threw it in a messy bun and walked out of my room. Selene was holding Dolce in a black Dolce bag. I laughed at the sight. She smiled and ordered me to follow her outside to the garage. We drove to the pet store in her white on white ranger-rover. Such a big car for a small girl, I thought.

     "Ha, I think I can handle it," she laughed. For a split second I was in shock until I remembered she could read minds. This was going to be a long car ride. "Perhaps it will."

     "Ugh." She giggled at my sudden frustration.

     "You're hilarious when angry," I rolled my eyes, and then remembered what I had to ask her.

    "Selene?"

    "Yeah?"

    "Who was that boy in the kitchen with us?" she fell silent for a very long minute.

     "That was Emilio, Lean's brother and our cousin." She finally answered.

    "Does Samael not like him?"

    "No he doesn't." She gave me a short answer.

    "Why not? What'd he do to Samael to gain his sudden hostility?"

    "Well first off he has already taken a liking to you," I put my head down in embarrassment. "And secondly" she continued. "Samael has also taken quite a liking to you, and I've already told you about his jealousy... and third... When Emilio sees something he wants he'll try everything to get it." We both fell silent after that.

    "So he wants me?" I asked in disbelief.

    "Well yeah, and it'll surely take a lot to keep him from you. Who knows what he'll do if he ever gets you alone," she stated. The rest of the car ride was quiet besides Dolce's heavy breathing. We arrived at Petco five minutes later. I then thought, what if someone sees me, as we got out of the car.

    "I doubt anyone that you know will be all the way out here," she answered.

    "Where are we?"

    "Vamptown, its like a parallel universe that no human besides yourself knows about," she shrugged.

    "So I'm the only human here?"

   "Yeah seeing as how all the other humans that were here have been changed." That made me feel pretty nervous.

    We walked into Petco and immediately headed to the food section. We grabbed four large bags of kibbles and bits, about fifteen chew toys and ten bags of doggy treats. A shirt that said "Vamps ain't got nothin’ on you", and another one that said "can't touch these Kibbles and bits." After Selene paid for everything we drove back home, not once speaking of Emilio.
